She was hit by an inexplainable tragedy last Friday, 20 April, when her 26-year-old daughter, Oluwadolapo Oluwadamilola, died during the funeral rites of her father at Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The crème of high society, had on that fateful Friday, congregated at Iyin-Ekiti for the burial ceremony of Pa Oluwatoyin Owolabi Ajayi, who died last January 21. All was going well at the church ceremony, which had the minister of power and steel and Eniola’s mentor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Erelu Bisi in attendance, until tragedy struck.
Sources disclosed that in the midst of the burial celebration. Ambassador Ajayi’s daughter, Dolapo, who had flown in from the United States for the burial started to complain of headache. All efforts to relieve her on the spot proved to be exercise in futility. Later, she was rushed to a private hospital, where she gave up the ghost. Predictably, the orgy of festivities at the burial ceremony came to an abrupt end. The uplifting music being dished out from the bandstand by gospel act Yinka Ayefele was replaced with serious wailing and lamentations from the shocked guests.
Ambassador Ajayi, a former Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology and later Commissioner for Environment in Ekiti State, also doubles as Nigeria’s representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia.
Dolapo’s remains were laid to rest yesterday at the Vaults and Gardens, Lekki, yesterday, with a Church Service, conducted by Daystar Christian Center.

Painful shit. Rip girlie.
ReplyDeleteI fear Ekiti people, hmmmmmmmmm They must have been waiting for the poor woman, only if she knew she wouldn't have let her daughter come to Nigeria for the burial. May Dolapos soul rest in peace.
DeleteOnly God knows what they used to touch that poor girl. It could have even been a relative they used, could have been one of her mums friends..
DeleteGod have mercy.
No! Do not be too fast to accuse others. She had a very long flight to Nigeria, did you even thing she must have developed a blood clot that thrombused to her brain. They said she complained of headache right?
DeleteGod have mercy
Deleteyeah i was going to say maybe it was DVT same thing that nearly killed Azuka Ogujiuba the journalist..please take heed when you travel long distance you need to move around the plane and do some stretches

This is so sad. RIP angel
ReplyDeleteMay her Soul Rest in peace and may God console the parents. I wondered what would warrant such a sudden dead, I presumed "cardiac arrest" but she is too young for such.
ReplyDeleteSad
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. It must be blood clot, due to long hours of flying! Sounds like the same thing that killed Goldie. What do I even know?
ReplyDelete@ 11:39, Exactly what I thought, but most Nigerians would be screaming witch craft.
DeleteRIP young lady
Exactly my thoughts
DeleteI think you are right on this one but it's quite difficult to explain such in a way that people will understand. So sad.
DeleteSame thing I think killed Keffe the Musician.Thrombosis due to long flight.

ReplyDeleteNawa.
ReplyDeleteI hope this young lady was suffering deep-vein thrombosis. hope she wasn't coming straight from airport and then journey to Ekiti state without resting.
RIP
Resting doesn't cure DVT or pulmonary embolism.
DeleteSo So sad Rest in peace pretty..
ReplyDeleteSomeone said blood clot. Sorry which one? Did she start flying today? My dear, life is spiritual. I am from that town and I can't remember when last I went there. My parents don't even permit us. That's how Africa is, and care should always be taken especially when you don't attach spiritual meaning to life. My condolences though. Just headache!!!
ReplyDeleteiGNORANCE! I have been flying for God knows how long but just developed clot in January, after travelling from Nigeria to London. My mistake was that I sat all through the travel. My people perish for lack of knowledge. Learn and help yourself, everything is not spiritual.
DeleteAnonymous 12:19, just dey look and don't reply some people. Those that know, know. Simple.
DeleteOnly if her mum had known, she wouldn't have made that girl come to Nigeria.
Anonymous 14:29, you that is not ignorant I can see ure over educated. Dr who knows so much about blood clot. You better pray you don't see such.
I remember going for a burial in Ekiti and when this rain started on one side of the part it was like magic and there was no rain on the other parts. We couldn't even stay for long, we carried our bags and left. The man who died had different wives, so there was competition and 1 month after the burial his ex wife that came from US had stroke and she couldn't return back. Thank God for Pastors and prayer warriors she was able to run back to US immediately she was a bit stable.
Don't go to the village.Iro ni oh. They shaa always want to go. Life is spiritual. The parents should have known better. I'm from that particular town and my parents don't permit us to near that place. My condolences though.Pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteShatap.
DeleteI really feel for her. But her parents should have known better. I'm from that town and my parents don't permit us near there. Life is spiritual. My condolences. I hope this painful lesson has been learnt.
ReplyDeleteSevere headache? Might have been a busted blood vessel (cerebral vessel ) in the brain, aneurysm etc. The hemorrhage will increase intracranial pressure, hence the sudden severe headache, blurry vision, then coma and lastly death. No warning sign, it's acute and sudden, very few survive.
ReplyDeletePoor girl, life cut off at its prime. Chai !
Prayer point & prophetic declaration :
As Abraham did not bury Isaac, I will not bury my children in Jesus name , amen.
The parents prayed and prophesied too.#just saying. What will be will be.
