The 37-year-old singer and her four-year-old daughter, Petra, were found dead on Thursday in the kitchen at their residence in Banana Island, Lagos. Some reports have alleged that Alizee’s Danish husband, Peter Nielsen Schau, murdered them.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Alizee’s father, Ali Madaki, gave some information about the couple.
He said, “I have known my late daughter’s husband for over seven years now. At the outset, he was of good character but last year, he started fighting his wife. Last November, a case was reported at the police station when he beat her to a coma. He then wrote an undertaking that he would never batter her again.”
Recalling how he was informed about the ugly incident, Madaki said, “On Thursday morning, he called me; I was in Abuja. Since I missed his calls, I called back and he told me he saw my daughter and granddaughter on the floor in the kitchen. I asked what went wrong; he didn’t say a word and dropped the call. One of my two daughters staying with them called their mother and broke the news. We took the next flight to Lagos and found out she was dead truly. I didn’t even know my grandchild was dead too.

I told my daughter to get Petra for me and we should go, then she told me she was dead too. I was shocked.
The husband claimed it was gas suffocation that killed them. We know that gas doesn’t kill people that way. In the pictures, you would see bruises all over their bodies. They were strangled to death. I strongly believe he did it because their compound is highly secured. Whenever I visited them, the security operatives had to confirm my visit with them before I would be allowed in.”
Stating that he was unaware whether the Danish man was a drug addict or alcoholic, Alizee’s father said, “I don’t know if he has a history of being an alcoholic or drug addict. She once came back to our house in Abuja after being battered by her husband. She was there for almost a month. The man came and started begging that he was drunk. He said he consumed too much alcohol on the fateful day he beat her. Since they had been together for a while and he had never misbehaved, I accepted his plea and allowed Alizee to return to Lagos.
“My two daughters are in the police station right now to give their statements because they witnessed all that happened. They said he hit her head on the wall. In the morning, he then asked them where his wife was. They pretended they didn’t know what happened. They knew that if they had made any attempts, they could be attacked too. There were five people in the house when the incident occurred – my late daughter, her child, husband and my two daughters – one 12-year-old and the other 10-year-old. I have four girls; Alizee is my first child and her immediate younger sister works in a bank.”
The mourning father stated that he wanted justice to prevail. He added, “He cannot do this in our country and get away with it even though he could get away with it if he had done it in his country. We want our government to pass a strong message to other foreigners with this. If this happens in their country, they would surely execute the Nigerian. Our government must give justice too as they do in other countries.”
Meanwhile, Alizee’s younger sister, Gift Madaki, who allegedly witnessed the incident, stated that when she heard Alizee crying for help, she went out to peep. “I was at home when the incident occurred. When she was crying for help, I went to see what was going on and I saw the husband hitting her head on the wall. I couldn’t come out because I knew he would descend on me too. The man is aggressive.

*OMG OMG OMG
OMG this has been happening and she didn't get out. Na wa
ReplyDeleteAnd the man will still blame alcohol. Nonsense
Eeyah, that poor baby;may God rest their souls.
Delete*Crying* I can't make sense of this dastardly act. The more I read the more pained I feel. Pls our government, Abike Dabiri or somebody do something! Please parents never let your daughters remain with a batterer. Especially if they are not bent on returning. The truth is some are, they return and endure until they are permanently maimed or killed. RIP to the departed.
Delete@10:37
DeleteYou better make sense of it. Just like the chronicle poster yesterday,
When people marry because they saw money, they don't know the character
of the person, this is the result.
This is so sad, how can you return back to him after beating you to coma? I hope ladies are learning from this...
DeleteWomen, run oh. If the man is a batterer pls run far. See how he just wasted their lives. So saddening.
DeleteOMG....that guy is sick
ReplyDeleteVery sick and high on drugs
DeleteThis is heartbreaking. What could have come over d man na.😩
ReplyDeleteI hope justice really prevails and not just showing us pix of him being in hand cuff. Sigh
Thought they said 'ancestors' are more caring...wetin come happen here nau?
DeleteI tire ooo @Shantelle. Hehehe
DeleteYou scarce o. Weldone
This is so sad💔💔💔💔
ReplyDeleteI pray the family gets justice!
May God comfort all who mourn her!
Say no to domestic violence!!!!
What kind of excuse is this sister giving. That you went to peep and couldn't call the securities at the gate for help or even call the emergency lines in Lagos if they will manage to come? You couldn't even call your sister's mobile phone to check on her knowing that he has beaten her to coma before. You were scared for your self and not your sister. May God have mercy on you gift, because you could have save your sister but you chose to let the monster have a filled day.
ReplyDeletePlease women learn from all these, if he hits you once he can kill you run for your life. Na person when dey alive dey do love and what society will say.
Nigerian parents learn how to encourage your daughters to take the long walk not minding what people will say, to avoid heart breaking stories like this.
I personally told my mum to take a walk even as a young girl and I don't regret it. If my husband ever lays his hands on me I will disappear with my kids I already told him that from the beginning and always remind him. I can't stand domestic violence. May God help us.
Sisters are only 10 & 12 yrs only and they are children too. Please don't blame them. Thanks .
DeleteWhy are you blaming the poor girl as if she is an adult? Didn't you read where they said the two sisters are 10 and 12 Yrs? At 12 yrs old what would you have done in such situation? Did the poor girl even know any emergency no? Even me that is over 30 I don't know any emergency no in Lagos maybe I would have Google it. The security at the gate that you said she should have called, who employed them? Who is their oga? Will they turn on their oga and report him? Is this not naija again?
DeleteRIP to the dead. I hope that man will go to jail, I doubt. Oyibo people don't joke with their citizens. before you know it they will ask that they should extradict him back to his country and he will come and serve his jail term there.
A child of 12 should have thought of all that abi? See the way you're rushing to blame the wrong person
DeletePls the sisters were kids. Do you know the kind of terror they were feeling, esp if they are naturally gentle kids. Even an adult would be quite frightened of this beast. What if he was wielding a loaded gun around and you were there, would you still go rush in to be the hero? It may have been better if an adult male relative was staying with them. The little girls were also helpless.
DeleteThey are too young. Poor children made to witness such horror.
Delete@8.44, oponu!
DeleteAnon 08:44 you seem to lack comprehension and the knowledge of survival skills. Read again please.
Delete@ Anno biko thoes Children are aksi kids they acted their age, besides they may be confuse at d that moment
DeleteWhat are you blabbing? A child of 10 should go and all the security man the is employed by the same man, it’s not like they live in block of flats where she will be safe in the next house, you say she should scream so that they will nack her own head too. Thank God she dint, at least she will serve as a better eye witness. What good would she have done for her sister by being dead?
DeleteYou need to read again so u can get the age of the sisters, 10 and 12...they're children bikooo
DeleteGod forgive me,but u for no allow her return the second time sir, undertaking in dis naija na wawu,RIP to child and mother
ReplyDeleteHappens all the time. They will begin, and woman will return. Even if the parents insist and some don't bother, the lady is highly likely to return.
DeleteWicked Man,may you rot in Jail.
ReplyDeleteFor killing that innocent child also, you must be crazy and high on drugs.
Foolish man
Idiot man killing a 4 years old girl without conscience you also must die.
Jazz gone sour
ReplyDeleteYeah you can say that again
DeleteEye don clear
pigeon side effect.
DeleteYou must be dumb to think every Nigerian girl married to a white man used jazz on him.
DeleteI'm sure jazz went sour in the case of that lady in Abuja who murdered her husband?
Let's call evil by it's name
By their comments, you shall know them.
DeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteThis is really sad
And she should have left since, this was what omoni was saying yesterday
From slap to death......the demons in them never leaves
And why kill the baby too, justice must prevail
Oh so painful. I can only pray that Justice prevails as our judicial system and police are so corrupt. Such a painful death.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteI guess marrying a rich husband doesn't guarantee a blissful marriage. Only God involved makes blissful marriages.
Those saying I will rather cry in a limousine than... take note
Dafty!!!
DeleteWhere here does it say the husband is rich. The home in banana island and the Prado jeep was part of the womamwo sign on contract from her music label.
Illiterate like you. You assume that having white skin is automatic wealth. Olodo
Dont mind the insensitive fool
Deletewhich yeye music?
DeleteUna too believe!!
How that music take sweet reach?
why havnt u danced to it?? Yimu
Which music that we don't know her? Expatriates stay in banana Island joor. Large organisations do that but im sure his organization wasn't a their name out of this mess that's why they aren't mentioned.
DeleteOoh the man is not rich but staying in a well secured estate St banana island ? That's the result of you long throat marring a man you didn't hustle with.
DeleteHe end up buying you just like a piece of furniture.
whoever owns the apartment or house doesn't matter.
DeleteI'm surprised people can say smthn like this. I expect better from fellow women and definitely mothers.
What is apartment in banana island y'all behave like it is heaven. Is it up to the lives taken. Especially of that 4yr old baby. When I remember that child I get angry. She didn't ask to be born and she definitely didn't deserve to die like this.
I'm surprised people's issue is who owns the house. Nawa o
Common sense is indeed not common sense.
DeletePesin die, onlooker dey check pimple for her face.
Anyway since ownership of the house is the important thing to some of you, the house and the car came as part of the sign on deal with her music company.
It was clearly stated earlier.
Go back and use your brain to read.
Daft things!
Something is not OK with this story. You heard your sister's cry in pains and didn't do anything to help her?
ReplyDeleteThe sister is either the 10 yr old or the 12 yr old one. They are too young and scared.
DeleteCan you read? She is 12!!!!!
DeleteYou were not there. Don't assume. You don't know the people involved and why they would react the way they did. Remember, this violence was a repeated occurrence and the only adult there, it appears apart from the perp was late Alizee.
DeleteA 12year old and 10yr old should come out. So they can be equally strangled.
DeleteWhat!!! The battering had been going on for long.... They never change. Wow!
ReplyDeletei earlier stated that a man would just wake up one sad morning & let thgs escalate to the boiling point of 1st degree murder, its gradually builds.. from shouting to slap, then the leather belt on ur skin... then the threats of "I will kill u and nothing will happen"!!! Then he cries & blames the devil for that moment, convincing u that its all anger talk! yet u keep believing he'd change.
DeleteThis is outrageous, most of these whites in Nigeria do a lot of bad things that they dare not do in their own country because they know you can get away with anything in Nigeria, sad. If only Alizee left when the abuse started, she would still be alive today. Her younger siblings must be traumatised because they witnessed the incident.
ReplyDeleteThe man deserves live imprisonment or death Penalty. I hope they won’t send him back to Denmark to serve his time because if they do, he will be out after 16 years.
May God console the family.
Nothing will happen to the man at the end of the day! No be naija again? Where the lives of citizens is not even worth $10 for 1 human life. This Danish man will go free!
DeleteAnd continue with his madness again upon another one desperado ethiopian, cuba, brazil, ghana, kenya, uganda, congo or cameroun (poverty stricken & paperless) foolish black girl...wannabe for oyibo husband opportunities.
So so sad Sally. Is there hope for justice?
DeleteSick is an understatement, the man is MAD!!!!! I'm scared of the word Marriage... Yeah am back again
ReplyDeleteMarriage didn't kill her, her husband did. Boyfriends also kill girlfriends, girlfriends boyfriends and wives, husbands, even friends, so?
DeleteSo he has been hitting her since last year and she was beaten to a coma too and her dad allowed her to remain with the beast of a man? Grandpa, you killed your daughter and grand daughter. Rip to them both.
ReplyDeleteTo those of you here who are being beaten regularly by your boyfriends and horsebands, don't leave o, remain with him, we will always type RIP when it happens.
DRoyalty her father didn't tie her there. She could have said NO. But who doesnt like good life? How can she no longer be a 'big man's' wife? Please don't blame the dad. She was an adult.
DeleteShe died a mrs somebody, isnt that most nigerian women dream? Like its a ticket to heav...?
ReplyDeleteReminds me of flora okwuosa. I dont have time telling anyone to leave toxic rel's. If you have a brain, use it!
Exactly! You have the willpower to own your life. No one is to blame.
DeleteI won't even say anything about this story. All of you blaming a child of ten or twelve are sick! A child that has probably seen that evil man beat her before and her elder sister would probably have an excuse. She should have gone to call security personnel who are in the employ of a monster - how do you know she hasn't done that before and it didn't work or they were threatened with being sacked? Blame the idiot and stop blaming a child who's been traumatized. Same child that will surf the net and see people blaming her for not doing anything
ReplyDeleteWicked man...devil's apprentice.
ReplyDeleteMay you rot in jail.
I hope our parent will learn from this.....go back to your husband house by force by fire.
RIP Alizee and pretty Petra.
He hit you once, he'll probably do it again but they won't listen, they'll want to die there. I know, of one, her anthem is there is no situation that God cannot fix, even as he constantly fixes you.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks only for that innocent child
Lord Jesus,ow could a man killed his wife n daughter like that?he must be a drug addict to av done such tin.they should kill him too simply
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond sad.
ReplyDeleteOyinbo ways dey different from our ways.
If they tell you they want a divorce/are tired of you/no longer interested in the marriage etc you’d better walk.
All these ‘let’s make the marriage work’, ‘a woman builds her home’ (rubbish) nor work with oyinbo man wey don tire. Coupled with their love for alcohol like it’s water anything can be an excuse to do major evil.
That said, NOTHING justifies killing someone’s daughter and your own child too.
Such a great loss.
I hope he gets what he deserves.
Nigerian parents have small self respect na. So two other daughters live with the couple? How will they encourage their daughter to leave a psychotic husband if he is looking after the other children? If the daughter leaves means the other two will have to leave and that will be an inconvenience.
Abi how una see am?
Mrs P you are right. Her father is a very irresponsible man. He gave birth to children he cannot cater for. Who sends their 10 and 12 year old children to live outside? From the father's narration of the excuse the killer gave ie gas suffication, it can be deduced that the killer killed the young daughter to make people believe the gas leak story. Somebody should just kill the guy in his jail cell.
DeleteThe man want banana island lifestyle for his children. I'm sure it is the white man paying their school fees. They have seen oyibo inlaw.
DeleteYou know this man beats your daughter. Fine she is an adult.
But do you think of the trauma it causes to be a 10 and 12 year old seeing DV daily. They can grow up thinking it's normal.
A comment by a friend of the deceased on fb "He is even claiming Zainab left tahe gas on and she and the child were suffocated by gas. As in who gas smell don kill. He killed them and dumped their body in the kitchen. And turned on the 4 burner. The cleaning lady came in and saw them. But he forgot that zainab 2 younger sisters saw him beating her up at about 3am.... they we're scared for their life as he has tried to strangle one of them before.... they pretended they were sleeping .... when the house help came , they ran out and called the security....then police..... long story"...
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious the guy killed Petra as well so she won't tell what happened as she is a witness to him strangle the mum, and the sisters were too young to have stopped him, may be its a pre-occurring incidence and if the security where called they may work in favour of the husband being their employer, at the end the heartless man may descend on the sisters or quite them from the house. And who knows if the lady was always talking positive of the husband. Marrying your ancestors doesn't guarantee a pampering and loving marriage life.
ReplyDeleteImagine 3am, hmmmmmm this man is a dare devil....who knows if he has beaten her up from sleep for a previous day's argument... some men are real evil genius ...
ReplyDeleteWhen you marry a man just because of money, you become one of the acquired furniture in his house. That's the result here.
ReplyDeleteCussing is allowed, I don't have time to respond to you people again. My hands are full.
But they said it was her house.
DeleteYou?
DeleteDo you have a job?
Who would employ someone as daft as you?
Better go and beg skywhite for that his 15k job he advertised. You and that erased 18 year old.
To be so void upstairs is a crime.
Peter Nielsen should be killed! This is horrific!
ReplyDeleteBlame the killer blame her family too. Nigeria parents mentality though. This man married one girl from them they now pushed extra two to him, it isn't normal. Your married daughter ran to you in the middle of the DV you sent her back obviously because the guy is their money bag. Let's assume they didn't know his true color before marriage, what happened to when he showed himself? They encouraged her to go back so their "good life" can continue. They made their younger daughters live in such environment till the worst happened.
ReplyDeleteThe trauma will linger with those poor kids cos of their parents stupidity.
They've lost two youngsters and another two is gonna be traumatized for a long time.
Nevertheless nothing should make our government allow that coward to escape justice.
I smell poverty mentality & desperado lifestyle all over this naija girl dead & her parents or family. They think that do or die marriage with a white man is ticket to success & good life forever. Unknown to them that this white man is very sick in the head & a satan...capable to kill his own baby girl! Evil!!!!
ReplyDeleteNdi aruruala na ndi ara!!!
God please save your people from 😈 in human form. Rip to mother and daughter
ReplyDelete
