What a stupid reason to kill anyone!
According to dailypost,A man identified as Ejiofor Oyiogu, has explained why he stabbed his 47-year-old elder brother, Ekene, to death in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It was gathered that the siblings engaged in a fight over the budget of their father’s burial.
Ekene, confessing to Punch said he stabbed his brother on different parts of the body because he was proving seniority over his father’s burial rite.
He said, “I learnt that Ekene was lording it over his younger brother, Ejiofor, especially on the issue of their father’s funeral that was to hold a day before tragedy struck.
“The matter came to a head on Saturday when Ekene drew the first blood by stabbing his younger brother, who grabbed the knife and cut him in the neck, hand, navel and head. The elder brother died on the way to a hospital.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Nkeiruka Nwode confirming the incident, Nwode described the incident as unfortunate, saying a manhunt had been launched for the suspect.
She added that the matter was reported to the police by one of the family members.
The PPRO said, “A family member, by name Elias, reported the matter to the police and the command swung into action immediately by taking the victim to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.”
Kai. No respect again for seniors.
ReplyDelete2 dead bodies to bury na. father and elder bros.
dont even know what to say again.
Na wahoooo.
DeleteNa their way.money money money. It definitely has to be about money.
DeleteJesus Christ
DeleteWhy is this story filled with area and people I know
Dunukofia
Nkiru Nwode
what is it with this people with shedding blood, because of burial expenses again, even sharing of property and land too they can kill because of this, then they are also the one's that maltreat their sons wife and send she and her children packing just to gain the brothers properties. Same them will stab brother for not settling them after apprenticeship.
ReplyDeleteVery wicked set of people.
How will you sleep at night knowing you killed your own brother. What a sad night mere you will always have.
ReplyDeleteEhen now he will have full control of the burial of his father and brother. "Children of anger"
ReplyDeleteEhen now he will have full control of the burial of his father and brother. "Children of anger"
ReplyDeleteHe does not have any control. When they eventually get him, his ass will be sitting in jail.
DeleteI just feel bad for the family because the remains of the father might be in the morgue a little longer while the family now shoulders the entire responsibility of burying two people.
Only God knows why people can not control anger
DeleteNa was o. This is just too bad.
ReplyDeleteAll for material gain. SMH.
Trait of an I-demon.
ReplyDeleteNawah ooo. Anambra nke anyi a?
ReplyDeleteHow is d brother lording over him? There's a saying in Igbo that " onye ji ego kwaa nna ya maka na oburo diokpara gburu nna ha."
In burial such as these, the amounts are shared based on how much one can afford. If the younger one is richer, he takes the lion share of expenses, it doesn't mean he is now the eldest son or would be at the head of the table.
All these issues are probably how siblings were brought up, they must had been having issues prior to now.
...and the killer must "gbaa oso ochu". Wch is a period of 7 years he will never be seen in their village for killing his brother. He might even be banished for life.
This is real double wahala for dead body...I pity their other siblings.
Somebody that will spend the rest of his life in prison if he is lucky
DeleteBeyond ridiculous. Funerals and holidays seems to always bring out the bad side of families.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately that’s why I stay away from my family during holidays... I always make up an excuse. I don’t wish anyone of them bad but when that time comes when our parents time is up, I pray everyday for grace to handle everyone in the best way possible. Have money ready, show up and disappear afterwards. Life is too short to argue or fight over petty things
DeleteHian! Na WA o
ReplyDeleteThe devil will take the blame after all
ReplyDeleteChai, in my own LGA? But the diokpara started the stabbing things and Ejiofor was defending himself. Iwe oku ajoka njo. Even if he wins in court, o ga agbariri oso ochu and appease the land on his return. But come o, wetin their mama go come do now? I pity her.
ReplyDeleteAnger that's the cause
ReplyDelete#Step into the fire of self-discovery. This fire will not burn you, it will only burn what you are not*
ReplyDeleteHe shouldn't have run away. He could have pled guilty to manslaughter or something. If he doesn't have a good lawyer, a prosecutor can use his running against him. I wonder why money is always a problem to some. May the soul of the departed RIP and may God comfort the family.
ReplyDeleteDuring my father inlaw's burial the finaicial pressure on my husband was so much, All the siblings folded their hands waiting for him to provide all the funds no body believed he was broke. We had to look for money oh. Is it a crime to assist your family with the little you Have? Dose that make you an Apology Dangote? Mothers please teach your children to be loving and giving. Tight fisted and selfish children should be blamed on
ReplyDeletetheir mothers
It's so sad! In recent years, my Anambra people have been making bad headlines in the news...
ReplyDeleteWhat a twist, in Dunukofia, Ejiofor stabbed his older brother Ekene to death. Meanwhile in Ogbunka, Ekene stabbed his older brother Emeka to death. What is in a name?!
