Okonjo-Iweala, a managing director at the World Bank, had said in the book, ‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous: The Story Behind the Headlines’, that Duke urged her not to serve in President Goodluck Jonathan’s government in 2011.
She claimed this was to deny Jonathan’s government credibility, so that it would be “weak and not succeed”.
Okonjo-Iweala, who also served as Minister of Finance under President Olusegun Obasanjo from 2003-2006, said she turned down the advice, which Duke allegedly claimed was coming from “a group of concerned people”.
Duke has now taken to his Twitter page, to confirm the meeting with Okonjo-Iweala, but wondered why a private conversation between “friends” has now been made public.
He wrote: “It is true I met with Ngozi when the rumors were swirling about her being considered for appointment.
“As “friends”, she having been literally dismissed from an earlier appointment as f1nance minister, I urged caution.
“I made no mention of adding or subtracting credibility to anyone or government.
“It was “two friends” discussing careers. It ended there and she subsequently made her choice which I respected. However, I think it is in poor taste and demeaning of her to report a private conversation in whatever self laundering attempt she may be up to. With hindsight, I was vindicated, Ngozi, as Minister of Finance and Economy, despite massive revenue receipts, left Nigeria poorer than she met it.”
from dailypost.
Duke should just keep quiet, I hate men who said things in dark and feel offended when those things come out in the light. If she left Nigeria poorer as Duke is claiming, so how come the series of international appointment given to her to serve? What then will duke say about this current administration if Ngozi plunged Nigeria into poverty?

Don't be a dolt oga...how can you tell him to keep quiet? You, ordinary blog visitors calling you sexy daddy has your mouth running like tap water here on this blog. Let him tell his own side of the story.
DeleteIt's good he spoke @teejay
DeleteHe is a politician
Teejay, ure a big time ignorant fool.
DeleteNa wa oh...
ReplyDeleteSometimes, people misconstrue your thoughts about them. So One has to be mindful of what you say to people, whether friends or not...
Hmmm! They should keep exposing themselves.
ReplyDeleteTrust Duke to clapback and leave her holding the bag alone.
ReplyDeleteMadam Ngozi has absolutely no right to name-dropping and revealing discussions made between friends. Fine you can quote certain advices given to you but leave people's names out of it. She should be wiser than this naa.
True.
DeleteAbsolutely correct.
DeleteFresh oil dey ya scalp.
I'm glad he responded.
No body in his right senses would have kept quite. Whether he is doing damage control is not the issue.
Never allow people to force you into their narrative without permission.
She just want to use you to sell her book. She was a pawn in the hand of World Bank to milked Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteI am clapping for you bro! I am happy when I see one of the very few Nigerians with sense. Thank you!

DeleteThe fear of Donald Duke is the beginning of wisdom...if he actually said dat...he must be a very cunny man. Typical politician...tufiakwaπππππ
ReplyDeleteKikikiki..na fine face e dey use deceive una. That man doesn't take shit.
DeletePoli-tricks 101
ReplyDeleteHope you students do understand the basics of poli-tricks
Ngozi is not a poli-trickster
Poli-tricksters did not want Jona to succeed because the goal
of every poli-trickster is to become the boss
Jona had a lot of frenemies. Frenemies are a major pivot in poli-tricks;
they surround you and flash their teeth; which are actually fangs and you
the naive boss will think they are smiling. Jona was learning politics and like
Ngozi, he came from the academia and has no clue initially as to what politricks was.
Being a phD in politics has got nothing to do with poli-tricks; which is learnt
on the Nigerian job. Some are old in the game; like that one that owns a phe cee.
Duke was governor of cross river state when Jonathan was that of Bayelsa
DeleteDuke was annoyed and disappointed that obj did not select him to be pdp
flag-bearer or VP; but instead selected Jonathan
He never supported Jonathan's government; in fact, hated him but was always
pretending.
The world bank woman should spill more.
Na real politrickss
Let them continue exposing their yansh
ReplyDeleteHe gave her good advice and I've lost respect for her now that she repeated it. I'd tell any good friend not to kill the career by serving with a corrupt or hated administration. It's just like going to we've in Trump's white house. You'd be tainted by his rubbish. And this lady was tainted
ReplyDeleteI understand Donald Duke's anger. That kain thing can pain sha. But Ngozi has got to sell her book and name calling adds spice to controversy.
ReplyDeleteDonald Duke shud sit down. snoop doggy dog. he go fuck girls finish pay them 5k if at all he pay sef
ReplyDeleteOturugbeke! πππ....You is pained
DeleteThis man nearly scatter my toto. If no be say I apply sense for the matter. I suffery shift from am. The prick massive no be small
ReplyDeleteHow are we sure you are not lying?
DeleteThis former governor has been begging directly and indirectly for political relevance since he left office. See how he ran to congratulate Buhari when he won. Still no ministerial appointment. Why him dey vex? Of course he was being petty and vindictive when he advised madam. Its no secret that most of Jonathan s former colleagues held him in contempt. They felt they were better than him and should have been in his place.
