After seeing a little Sun Yesterday,today and tomorrow weather is showing me Snow...as in,for what na?!...This weather is the reason some people visit their warm homelands at this time of the year...How can it be snowing in March?Na wah oh!

DeleteThe year is 2016, and Chinedu(not his real name) just got back from PH looking fresh and well nourished, with his glowing chocolate skin, and his well built physique, like that of Seth Rollins, with a height of about 6ft 1.
ReplyDeleteHis old friends in the neighborhood trooped in to bid him welcome. As usual, Chinedu took them to the nearest Bar around for a treat.
One nice thing I admire about Chinedu is his usual jovial nature. I remember the day he jokingly teased me saying 'kedu ka nwa afo igbo dika gi ga esighi asu, n'ele na aza na oyibo, e baa anyi obodo Biafra, anyi akpoghige gi Nigeria'.
The only greeting Chinedu and I share was 'Hi - Hi' nothing more. I notice he smokes Cigarette and Marijuana. Like an early morning NYSC beagle, I'd be all up in his face, telling him It's not good for his health, but he'd wave me aside.
A year went by, Chinedu didn't go back to PH, he became the Landlord/Caretaker of the area, he now mingles with local Nnewi bus-park boys who are never up to no good. Over time, our friendship never blossomed, simply because I don't indulge in the vices he partakes in. Matter of fact, our relationship reached its nadir.
The only time I ever saw Methamphetamine hydrochloride/Crystal Meth was in the Seasonal movie 'Breaking Bad'. How Chinedu was able to lay his hands on it, I hadn't a clue. Someone who was good looking, now looked sickly, and mal-nourished.
Before the beginning of Lent, I went back to Nnewi to behold the shocker news. Chinedu had run mad. At first, I refused to believe, only for me to see it with my own eyes, Chinedu now roams the streets of Nnewi. I was heart broken, a sudden guilt came upon me. I felt it's all my fault, why didn't I break all those barriers and reach out to him, why didn't I try so hard to be his friend and warn him of the dangers of hard drugs that he found solace in.
I could have done more!

Rowland, sometimes when u talk to them, they don't listen. One is beside my our house he is just roaming the street and talking to himself. When we got to this place new, he used to come help my hubby with some chores. It is just so sad seeing him like that.

ReplyDeleteMy friend's baby has been sick since last week, Infact she was hospitalized IN a Catholic hospital, put on drip and discharged days later,only for her to be getting weaker, we took her to another hospital and those ones said the drugs she was given were cheap and ineffective, she was also admitted, put on drip to flush out those drugs and I'm really scared cos the drug she took from that Catholic hospital is much both pre admission, during admission and post admission, Infact in the former hospital, they said they could not find vein in her hand, it was in her leg, and after a while the leg got swollen but in this new hospital, vein was found on the hand..... I don't know If I should be pissed or not, if you are not capable, why open a hospital??? Gibe wrong diagnosis, or cheap treatment for a child?? This girl is less than 2years old has taken lots of drugs, she's looking so lean, it's unbelievable......... Please say a word of prayer because the emotional stress on all of us is too much....... I'm her big Aunty, her God mother and she's like my baby, I stayed late in the hospital yesterday and I'm really bothered......

ReplyDeleteMy opinion, bread spread isn't meant to be cooked with, that's why its boldly labelled BREAD SPREAD. Margarine & butter on the other hand will melt.
People should not disgrace their degrees or family name. Its simple English, but in a bid to form CIA or FBI, she ended looking silly, my opinion.
So, can a food scientist help to clarify? Should bread spread, of any brand, be used to cook/melt in boiling water?
