Saturday Breakfast Post....

What are we eating today?

Who knows what that is in the photo?I have forgotten the name but you can find it mostly in Osun state.........I used to buy it at gbongan on my way to Ilesa when i was serving the Nation via NSYC.....

That stuff up there is akara but peppered and fried with red oil and eaten either so or with very soft bread....thats the best breakfast ever and i wish i could get me some right now.....

I am trying to loose tummy fat and hip fat so i will imagine breakfast today instead of eating it...
Heheheheheheheh....

Describe your breakfast but dont tempt those of us who do not want to eat yet....

Today is a good day. Munch and grab a cup of hot choco or soya milk. No dining set.

Stella Kork...that is akara osu na. BVs whose kids schooled in Federal School of Science and Technology, Mesi Road Ilesha will give you more details. I've eaten it 3times on school visitation before we changed school jare (too far from Lagos), they wrap it with plenty papers and the oil still soaks it all. Very tasty bean cake with correct bean flavour.
You can make it yourself and enjoy.

    3 secrets are involved:
For 3 cups of beans(honey beans is better, it rises faster and has sugary taste).
1...blend 3 large reddish onions. The very reddish ones o. It has plenty sugar.
2...add NO WATER while blending washed beans to paste, just the little water drops while blending. And please soak the beans for 45minutes before blending to soften, you'll need less drops of water to blend.
3...pour paste in bowl or mortar if you got any. Turn and beat with paddle or pestle if you wish to go local. Or better still pullout your Kenwood mixer. Do not add the onion and crayfish paste till it is swollen, airfree and fluffy. Then dice your red bell pepper and turn in the fluffy mix. Add salt and seasoning melted with little water then turn well and fry immediately.

    To fry:
Pour enough red oil in a SHALLOW DEEP POT not a fry pan or wok. At least half the pot so it floats. Then heat oil for 1 minute, do not bleach but allow to heaten so that the bean cake doesn't go stick to bottom of pot.
When brown on both sides remove from oil and drop on brown serviette or carbon paper to soak the oil off, except you love the very oily one.
