NYSC Blacklists Osun School Over Attack On Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun has blacklisted Osogbo High School after some corps members were attacked by students believed to be cult members.

Mr Emmanuel Attah, the Coordinator of NYSC in Osun, made this known at the 2018 NYSC/corps employers’ workshop on Wednesday in Osogbo

Attah said employers were expected to provide for the accommodation, welfare and safety needs of corps members, adding that those who served in Osogbo High School in 2017 were attacked by students suspected to be cultists while the institution was unable to guarantee their safety.

He said the failure of the principal of the school to provide protection for corps members was responsible for the blacklisting of the school.

  1. Wow!! A high School? Please the school should be blacklisted permanently for the students behavior. Imagine wayward gang bangers attacking the only group that could help them. I heard most teachers have poor attendance records and in most places it’s the Corpers that they depend on. Let’s see how their own teachers will help them.

This is partly NYSC fault. last year while I was still serving the Corp members were withdrawn from the sch. reason that the principal had a heated argument with nysc officials from abuja visting all schools then.
the sch is well known as Aregesola boys full there with charms even police are scared to arrest students from Osogbo high school they have even fought the police.
Why did nysc still deploy corpers there in this new batch???
    it's well oo.
the state cordinator is the best but this decision was bad.
