ReplyDeleteFacr 2; I remember reading about Diogenes from Philosophy class, he was a major proponent of Philosophy of Cynisim. There's also a behavioural disorder named after him because he considered poverty and virtue to be parallel.
ReplyDeleteNext time you see a person who hides their possessions and allow themselves to suffer, know they are suffering from Diogenes Syndrome.
Fact 3; Very relatable. Follow this logic; Love in its purest form is not devoid of pain, pain is an outcome of torture...Love tortures. When you are in love and/or romantically linked to someone, you've suppressed your innate ability to inflict harm on that person.
But see where it gets all messed up, every suppressed emotion increases at an alarming higher rate than it would have, if not suppressed.
Its like when the government makes some social acts illegal, study shows that such acts increase rapidly behind the curtains...think drugs, same sex relationships, etc.
So, our innate abilities to pysically hurt others, something that's part of our DNA, which for the sake of some senseless affection we decide to suppress, is on the contrary going to the gym and getting stronger and bigger and jealous and waiting for that person for whom it was suppressed to do the least wrong thing, then boom! It escapes from that place of suppression and finds it way to the our mind and we strike, without the intent of killing, but hey...partner is dead anyway.
Men are the ones who suppress their original animal instnct - divine design the most, explains why women are the most sufferers.

DeleteI love ancient Greek mythology. Infact, I am indeed fascinated with anything Greek. I read 'Iliad' and 'Ulysses' by Homer those days...

ReplyDeleteMost of them are borderline 'crazy' a lot of people don't understand how their minds works.
Fact 3 was a narrow escape for me this Dec even uptil now he refuse to leave me alone though we have settled our differences now, I thank God now I didn't dump him for abroad guy. He loves anything close to me even my kids & family are like his but he no too get money & I LOVE MONEY TOO MUCH
