In an exclusive chat with The Sun, the thespian went down memory lane, recalling how both hooked up on a movie set. She said, "We met on a movie set. I didn’t even like him before then, because judging from a distance, I saw him to be arrogant and a womaniser. However, when we finally met on set, I immediately realised what lots of people hardly noticed about him. I could see beyond the surface and I realised that apparently, he gets shy when he is meeting someone new for the first time.
“Immediately I realised that, I used it to build my confidence around him, because initially, I was having mixed feelings and didn’t know how I would act alongside an arrogant fellow. In the process of shooting and moving from one location to the other in his car, I taunted him on different issues not knowing I was helping him overcome his shyness around me and the emotions were also building. I wouldn’t use the same line as every lady out there by saying it took awhile before I accepted to date him because the emotions were there for me too; it was a mutual feeling, so it wasn’t difficult to click when he finally asked me out.
How were they able to conceal their affair from prying eyes in the industry?
The actress breaks out in laughter as she responds: “We were able to keep our relationship out of the media because for us, we didn’t mix business with pleasure. We knew when to draw the line when it comes to work, so people saw us as just friends.”
Was it love at first sight and who made the first move?
“He made the first move of course, and no, it wasn’t love at first sight because we were first of all friends before we became lovers. And he is still my friend. Nothing as good as marrying your friend. We dated for a year and asking me to marry him was made private not public, and yeah, I liked that.”
Now that she’s married, what if her husband asks her to dump acting, would she comply?
“First of all, the man I am married to won’t ever ask me to do that. He is a supportive person which was part of what attracted me to him; he is down with whatever makes me happy."
Summary of this story is 'Make yourself available for love'
ReplyDeleteWhere do these "actresses" emanate from? I don't even know any of them.
ReplyDeleteCan't remember the last time I watched their movies, definitely not this year. So I don't bother to know any of them
Delete*Larry was here*
Salma Mercy Aminu. Fine Ebira girl. She went through a disturbingly rebellious streak and people close to her were scared but I'm impressed with how she scaled through. I like her come up. This girl has been putting in work since her Uniabuja days and I am glad that things are finally looking up for her. Maybe if she entered nollywood earlier and was more focused, she could have been on the same level with Mercy Johnson by now or even bigger. I pray that this union lasts. I don't know him but he seems like a good guy. I am rooting for you Mercy.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 13:56 Mercy be there praising your fake self and comparing yourself with Mercy Johnson. You wish abi? Very cheap girl that sleeps around. When it comes to sex, she doesn't have self control as a woman. She can allow any man sleep with her. Which Uniabuja guys didn't fuck her then with her big breast and flat ass. Even when she moved into town after she left Uniabuja, she was sleeping with producers and every dick just to get waka pass role. She was also sleeping with so many married guys inside Abuja town. Funny thing is, she doesn't do it for the money, she just have a problem closing her legs. The man you married doesn't know your story. I pity the Opurum guy. Mercy Salma that doesn't know her body count. She can't even act, always forcing herself to act. that is why she married the Opurum so that the guy she can be hooking her up with producers, directors and actors. It is only wack producers that give her roles because they don't have to pay her much. Infact she sometimes act for free. Mercy Abegi close ur legs to others and open it for only your husband, now that you are married
DeleteAnon 15:55 I am not Mercy and I know about everything (and more) you just mentioned. I know this girl very very well. That is why I preferred to say "disturbingly rebellious streak". I don't bad mouth people I know and that's why I kept the details. She knows me and she has been nothing but nice to me. Not that she saved my life or anything but she's a cool person. Sometimes I couldn't even reconcile the stories I heard to the person I saw. Anyway, I believe in second chances and redemption and still wish her the best.
