Tinubu Advises Ex-Presidents IBB And Obasanjo To Join Retirees’ Club

Chief Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has asked former military President Ibrahim Babangida and ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo to join the club of retirees.

Tinubu said this on Tuesday while addressing state house correspondents at the end of a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. Bisi Akande, former interim chairman of the APC, accompanied Tinubu to the meeting.

Tinubu in reaction to the advice by the former presidents that Buhari should not run in 2019 said: “I don’t address those shadows. We should let our former presidents join retirees’ club and take pensions but they can participate in our politics if they are interested.

"It is a free world but this freedom is not served a la carte but they should allow us to move our country forward. It is a challenge to every Nigerian.”

  3. Uncle Tinubu this statement of yours should be related to Buhari cos his mates are already retired like OBJ and IBB who has long retired they are no longer active in politics so baba Bubu should do same.
Buhari should retire and be a pensioner.

Let me see how Tinubu will repackage bubu to Nigerians come 2019.

  4. What a nice way to hint buhari not to contest in the next election. Uhmm🤔

At least for the sake of his health he needs to take the back seat. I would be super disappointed if they push this man through the rigorous exercise of campaign again

  5. Tinubu belongs to that same club. APC has a lots of diversionary tactics instead of addressing issues squarely. Their blame game can no longer be sustained.
