Presidency Reacts To Claim That Jonathan Commissioned Kaduna Tsaigumi

The Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie has responded to the claims that the Tsaigumi commissioned in Kaduna during the week, was first launched by ex-president Goodluck Jonathan in 2013.

The Presidential aide said that those who hold the view including members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should substantiate their claims with evidence.

Reno Omokri, ex-aide to Jonathan, had stated that the equipment was unveiled on December, 18, 2013 by the then administration.

But Onochie reeled out ongoing projects to contradict the position of Omokri who had said that “the current administration is trying to claim Jonathan’s achievements.”

She listed “Rehabilitation of Agbor-Sakpoba- Ogharefe road, section 111 (Alihami Spur to college of Education, Agbor) Delta state, Contract No. 6093.

“Secondly, Nigeria Ports Authority Revenue (2013 – 2017)
2013 – 154.50 Billion Naira
2014 – 159.30 Billion Naira
2015 – 180.50 Billion Naira
2016 – 162.20 Billion Naira
2017 – 299.56 Billion Naira

“Again the dualisation of Sapele-Ewu road in Delta, section 1: (Sapele- Agbor), Contract No. 6249.”

Onochie said that under Buhari, “Foreign reserves increased from 22b dollars to 42.8b dollars.Under the CBN ABP, N55b was disbursed to farmers nationwide which then translate to bumper harvest of 15 million metric tonnes of Rice in 2017 alone.”

According to dailypost She concluded by saying: “a nation sacked its President for corruption, another nation wants its President sacked for fighting corruption. What a paradox! The Tragedy of a desperate opposition that wants the return of corruption to Nigeria.”

  3. Don't know what dis politicians take Nigerians for, common sense should is really lacking here
Nigerians should know that Nigerian custom and nigerian port authority generate dia revenue in naira of foreign currency equivalent of Wat is imported.
Simply put, if Mr A buys a Range Rover of $100,000 (15m during Goodluck Jonathan tenure) dey will likely pay about $30,000(4m naira ) as custom duty /npa charges,
But if same car is bought during buharis tenure for same $100,000(about 36m naira) dat same car will be charged import duty of $30,000(about 11m naira) during buharis tenure
So d increase in revenue bin claimed is just a scam. Since revenue is charged at govt exchange rate
Nigerians need to be wiser now
