Awwwww Baby Boy is too cute!!!
this is my first time writing in, I won't term myself an avid reader but I can't say the same of my brother in law Rowland, he actually persuaded me to do this write up and send it to you.
My Journey to becoming a mother started my husband and I took our walk down the aisle on the 11th of February last year.
I remember almost a month after we got back from what I'd tag 'Nigerian honeymoon', I was feeling woozy and Hubby would just look at me and hum Jodie's Kuchi Kuchi song.
I won't forget the look on his face when he came back from work and I told him I was pregnant, oh! The joy on his face that day knew no bounds, that night he opened his favorite drink in the bar; Jack Daniel's, then he gave me bottle of coka cola, with a sarcastic look on his face saying 'Honey say goodbye to alcohol' with a tongue out...
That began the journey I'd never forget. My husband prayed for a Girl, but I prayed for a boy. Please Stella permit me to praise my husband a bit, and other good men out there who would go the extra mile just to make sure their wives are spoilt silly during pregnancy.
I remember one afternoon, I'd just returned from the market and dropped all I was to cook in the kitchen, and told myself to take just a quick nap, only for me to wake up hours later to meet my husband had finished cooking a pot of soup and stew, and even served me. Or is it when I'd want to clean the house and he'd say 'Honey, don't stress on little things like this, let me do it. Just know we are in this together'.....
Fast forward to my labour...
My labour story is quite short and stress free. Since it was my first pregnancy, I didn't know how labour contractions felt like. Though, I'd read about it and had been lectured on it by my elder sister and Mother. I must admit, nothing beats the experience of it all, since as a woman, you are the only one that can dance to the tune the contractions produces.
Mine started on a mid Sunday morning by 3am, my goodness, I couldn't sleep, plus I didn't want to wake hubby up, because I didn't want him to panic, for I knew it wasn't time to go to the hospital, since the contractions were still far apart.
How I was able to manage the pains till 1pm Sunday afternoon was what I'd term a Miracle. The pain had tripled, and all the usual smiles on my face had disappeared. I grabbed my stuffs, called Hubby and we headed for the hospital.

On our way to the hospital and Hubby was doing his James Bond/Formula one driving. I had to beg him to slow down.
Honestly, I never knew I could suddenly be irritated to potholes, speed breaker or even traffic light that much. When we got to the hospital, I was checked and told I was 5cm gone. Knowing that I needed to be 10cm, before the baby could arrive, I was told to exercise so as to hasten the dilation. Off we go(Hubby and I) on a 'about to give birth workout', or should I say 'step climbing', and other little exercise I'd already Googled.
Several hours later. I threw up and the urge to shit came rushing like an active sperm rushing to the ovaries. I was taken to the labour room. Just as I climbed the bed, the baby's head was already out. Before the medical team could get ready I had already started pushing, and all they did was pull my son out.
The best part was that my first time, was complications free and I had a safe and easy delivery.
Stella Today is our 1 year wedding anniversary, and 13th of this month will make my Son 3 months(a beauty to behold), also Hubby's birthday is 14th of Feb. I attached some pictures for your eyes only.... On second thoughts, you know what, post it for all to see.
God bless those Trying to Conceive, this year shall NEVER pass you by IJN. Also, those who are about to have their bundle of Joy, may you have the safest of all delivery without any complications whatsoever IJN.

ReplyDeleteBaby boys don't waste time to come out nah!...
ReplyDeleteThey are so peaceful and easy going!,.
The most annoying thing about them is that they can cry for Africa!...
My children when they were babies dealt with us with their cries and sleepless nights that some times,I shout on them even spank them a little to shut up!...
My husband then would call me crazy but it works!,,.
You would think they don't know what they are doing but if I shout and soank them, they would stop!...
*memories...
They are all grown, calm and peaceful but you go judge case tire!!...
You re really mad for beating nd shouting on a baby.smh
