    1. She is right o, this is a good move if she is not getting married anytime soon,,when she is ready at any age there won't be any story of egg being to weak for IVF and looking for egg donor. A child that won't carry her fixtures.

  3. Good for her.

What if when she wants to use it and it's not functioning anymore?

I will never fully get this egg freezing thingy.

    1. There’s nothing wrong with Freezing eggs.

I’ll be 28 next month and I’m working towards getting mine done .
The thing is due to my career I do not see myself getting married or making babies anytime soon.
      Live and let live .

    2. Chi, it is even you don't freeze that it might have stopped functioning when you are ready to use it. That's the essence of freezing your eggs, so that you can still use them when u stop ovulating.

  4. Too much time and money in her hands . Her choice anyway, but pls this should not make unmarried ladies in their 20s/30s start panicking. That is how I know a lady who wanted to get married at 34 and the future mother inlaw was asking her "is she sure she can still have babies". When the stress of that rltshp became too much for her cos the woman just didn't like her she left the relationship.
Finally got engaged at 37,married at 38 and she was already even pregnant during the wedding. Has a boy now.
I have nothing against egg freezing but people should do away with the mentality you cannot easily conceive in your late 30s.
I also got married in my 30s and had no difficulty getting pregnant. Some even claim the eggs will no longer be good.
Guess what my aunt's friend delivered her first child at 50yrs after 20yrs of marriage. And the boy is just the most beautiful baby boy I have come across that sometimes I say this boys beauty is not ordinary for a boy. He's so intelligent also and brought so much joy.

    2. It goes both ways some people it is easy for them to conceive in their 30’s/40’s/even 50’s but for some it is not. It is better to be safe than sorry. If she doesn’t need it in the future and still have good eggs! Congratulations!! If not there is no backup.. a wise person makes hay while the sunshines.. if you can afford it, doesn’t go against your religious values and you are up there in age, pls go for it.. you have nothing to lose. This is not about panicking. Apple and Facebook added egg freezing as one of their employee incentives because they recognize a changing world, there are so many reasons why it could be useful later on in life

    3. Well said @anonymous 16:30...I know someone who had stage 3c breast cancer at 29. The chemo caused her to go into menopause at that age. This was a newly wed who wanted babies badly. She was advised to freeze her eggs earlier but she didn't cos she had to start chemo real fast. Thank God for His mercies and grace sha. People are going through stuff. Our diet and lifestyle has changed so much from what obtained in the past so anything can happen at anytime. If you can freeze your eggs and feel the need to, please do. We shouldn't criticise what we don't know or haven't experienced. No one knows tomorrow. If getting married and having kids were easy for you, it might not be so for another.

  6. That’s great!!! I will do the same too if I was in my 30’s and have no kids or husband. I have been looking for a way to tell one of my close aunties that is still single, almost 40 to go freeze her eggs so that when she finds Mr right it won’t be too late or even if later after trying several years and she can’t find a man she can still have kids. This life is too short to live with regrets. Thank God for technology!

  10. This is news because this might jolt some single ladies memory into doing the same while she waits for Mr Right.

Stella sometimes the information one needs to take a life changing decision could come from SM and that is why SM is king of info.

  12. I've always loved the idea of egg freezing and I plan on getting mine done after I have 2 kids with my husband. I'll freeze my eggs and remove my womb coz I can't be stressing on fibroid, ovarian cancer etc if we want more kids (hopefully not) we'll use a surrogate. Life is too simple to be stressing abeg

  13. To your question, you blog about it! It's a good move for her, seeing she's not getting any younger and she has the money to cos its rather expensive. This lady always displays so much hate for anything Nigerian, yet she gets the most publicity from us.
