Emir Sanusi Says He Gave The FG Pictures Of 800 Herdsmen Killed And Nothing Was Done

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, says he personally gave the FG pictures of 800 Fulani herdsmen and their families that were killed in Taraba State last year but the government had yet to take action. .

In an interview with Punchng, he added that the killings in the Middle Belt were being perpetrated by both the herdsmen and the locals, stressing that the murder of the herdsmen was not being accurately reported thereby presenting a false narrative of ‘one-sided killings’.

The emir said, “Some months ago in Mambilla, in one weekend, over 800 Fulani were murdered by Mambilla militias. The papers did not even go there to cover the story.

In one case, a pregnant woman was killed, her stomach was ripped open and the baby was brought out and slaughtered. I personally handed over to the FG a dossier with the names and pictures of the 800 or so people slaughtered as well as the names and addresses of persons known to have participated in these acts of ethnic cleansing. .

Nothing has happened. I also ensured that authorities received video and audio evidence of senior politicians in Taraba State, who were involved in this act of genocide. No one has been arrested. .

Fulanis were also murdered in Kajuru and Numan. In many of these cases it was not about conflict but militias raiding settlements to kill women and children, and then later, attacking herdsmen and slaughtering them and their cattle.

The point I am making is that we are living in a country that has failed to protect the lives of people on all sides and bring culprits to book.

Also in the case of the Fulani, there is a deliberate attempt to ‘ethnicise’ criminality, and politicians, who are total failures, have found the anti-Fulani rhetoric to be the way to get popularity,” he said.

The monarch said as far as perpetrators continued to get away with the dastardly acts, they would remain emboldened to continue to kill. Sanusi alleged that in Taraba State for instance, one of the officials that took part in the killing of Fulani had been given an appointment by the state government.

    4. What the Emir is saying is simple: do not be biased to think only Fulanis are doing the killing.

The noise on SM is political motivated. Why is the herdsmen issue probably one that more that the Rivers killings? Why want the Cross Rivers killings met wit same outrage? Why didn't the killing of Fulanis get such outage?
Is it because these ones to fit the political narratives?

Until all lives matter, we would not get to have a solution to these issues.

    5. This man can lie to Timbuktu. How can 800 fulani or huasa air any Muslim in that country for that matter be killed and we wo t hear about it or they will not turn the country upside down. I have always suspect one of the kings or emirs in the north was backing the herdsmen, now we know 6 of them back them. That is where their confidence comes from. They can kill whom ever and No body can touch them. Times up- nigeria should split! Let them roam the streets and farms I. The north only.

  13. One guy on FB even termed his own "Christian controlled press" that why we don't hear of the attacks except the reprisals, in his bid to justify or hold brief for the herdsmen attack. I was just speechless.
I do agree with the Emir though, the govt have failed in protecting the lives of the citizens, and the culprits are having a field day.
    RIP to the dead.

  19. I was in Numan in Nov 2016 and visited the King of Bachama kingdom.
Even then, the king complained of Fulani herdsmen whose cows ravage people's farmland and when accosted, embarked on a murdering spree.
It was a huge headache for him and he asked that we pray for his land because so much blood had been shed.
We didn't hear anything about Fulani herdsmen being killed.
I was also in Taraba that same month, and the people too complained of the same Fulani herdsmen, so what are you saying sir?
Y'all have been doing it for a long time.
That was 2016 o and the government did nothing.
How is it also possible that 800 Fulani herdsmen were killed and no one knew about it?
We know you and your people's plans and God will punish you all.
I no wan vex this evening.

  20. It's really pathetic when the likes of Sanusi subvert the facts due to tribal and religious affiliations. Historically, it's actually the Fulani terrorists that are known to butcher families in their sleep including cutting open pregnant women. Then hanging up on a pole the slain fetuses. Obviously, Sanusi is attempting to juxtapose here and it won't fly; his attempt at defending his fellow Fulani's before people of conscience everywhere is dead on arrival; if Sanusi cannot ameliorate the situation, it would have been better for him to remain silent because his one-sided and misleading claim warrants to, adding salt to injury.
