It was gathered that the collapse was due to a fire incident on the Escravos Lagos Pipeline System of the Nigerian Gas Processing and Transportation Company Limited.
The incident led to a shutdown of the pipeline that supplies gas to six thermal power plants resulting to the collapse of the country’s electricity grid.
This was confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing in a statement issued around 12:44am on Wednesday.

I don't know what you people are talking about. I live in lagos. We've had uninterupted power supply for several months now in my area. They hardly take our light ,if they do at all, you can bet it will be restored the next minute. Fasola is working. Salute Sir
