President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday attend the 59th Proclamation of Republic of Niger in Tahoua, Niger.
The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday that Buhari alongside the Presidents of Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania and Niger would participate in the historic event.
The event is being held every year on Dec. 18 to commemorate the founding of the Republic of Niger and creation of the Presidency.
The presidential aide disclosed that after the ceremony, the Nigerian leader would hold bilateral meetings with some of his counterparts before returning to Abuja same day.
Shehu said the president would be accompanied on the trip by Governors Aminu Masari, Ibrahim Gaidam and Kashim Shettima of Katsina, Yobe and Borno States.
