Emergency Room Series : Mind Your Business- Partt 2

This is the concluding part of the previous post. 

 As at the time I got to work today, she had already been moved from the ER to the ICU(because she was in a coma for more than 24hours) which is another department on its own but I tried to stay in touch during the shift. 

The nurses at the ICU told me that she had had a Doppler test done and even some heart tests such as echocardiogram and ECG and they looked normal for her age. These tests cost a lot of money. I was told The pastor had come earlier to pray and told the husband to go home right away to beg the neighbor. I don't know why tho.


The nurses said when he got home, he was told by the lady's husband that the lady had travelled. He tried calling her number to beg for forgiveness but she acted like she didn't know anything about it and even said prayers for the sick wife.


At about midday, she was noticed to be gasping for air and she stopped breathing so they started CPR on her. I was told her heart stopped thrice. They increased the litres of oxygen she was getting and continued intense CPR for about half an hour. She was given shots of adrenaline to restart the heart the fourth time but it just didn't pick up. 

 To cut it short, they lost her. 

To say her family members were devastated and horrified is the least way to express their reaction over her death most especially the husband. For the first time in the department they had no 'cause of death ' to write on the death certificate. They lost a perfectly healthy patient. When the news got to our unit, everyone was stunned. I was really hoping she would get better so I would share the good news.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the neighbor or anyone has anything to do with it but with the way things went downhill so fast gives room for concern.
It's natural for us to want to talk about our frustrations with other people. But, that doesn't mean you should get in someone's face and yell at them for doing something you don't like. In your environment, workplace or family, you'll meet people who will frustrate you, get you angry, look down on you and find your trouble but it's your duty not to make them get the best of you by controlling your emotions. Not every action deserves a reaction. Let's be wise. Thank you
