  5. I wish i can say such nice things about my mum....how do you praise a mother that absolutely hates it when she sees her children progressing? A mother that deliberately creates a wedge between the children doing well and the ones that aren't?
A mother that will make your life a living hell if you decide to go against her wish and marry who want instead of who she wants?

  6. Dementia is very bad. For one to be alive and not remember things or people anymore...awww I don't even want to imagine that.

  7. Yep dementia will do all that. Some people are not well informed, they will be angry with their loved ones who have succumed to this illness. Some will say, mom, grand ma/pa is a witch. Especially when they revert back to their childhood & start talking about things that no one makes sense of.

Or they 'sundown' , where by in the evenings they get extremely confused, some might pack up their bags or tie a bundle of their little belongings, that they are leaving.

Some will not recognize their kids. A friend's dad (just 68) has just been diagnosed as having onset dementia. When he goes to see his dad, daddy will be like..'how are you young man?what's your name again?' Mind you he was with his dad in the morning of the same day to help with his care, personal hygiene & grooming. The guy would just break down crying. It is so hard for him to accept it. His dad, his hero, is now like a 2yr/o, dude cannot just comprehend.

Worst of all both dementia & alzheimer are progressive diseases. Let's show our parents love. Clean them up when they make a mess with food or with urine or faeces. Do it with love, you will be fulfilled when they are gone. That guilt of... if I had known...I would have...will not hang over you like a dark cloud the rest of your life.

May God give us strength & understanding as we take care of our ailing & aging parents. Money alone does not suffice, be hands on. Don't only pay people to do it. When you visit, take upon yourself to administer care e.g feed them, bath them, assist them with dressing as well as change their underwear/ adult diapers when they are soiled. Remember they once did that for you.

  9. My granpa had Dementia and trust me it wasn't easy...😢 he lost his memory and couldn't even remember his second wife and kids😓. He didn't know how to use the loo and couldn't even hold his cutlery himself... just imagine an old being in a baby form...😭😭 i understand what Uriel is going through and it takes a greater love to look after one living with dementia cos you have to be extra patient...Cos that parent was patient with you while growing up as well...🤗 I pray God continues to strengthen her spiritually, physically, emotionally and most especially financially.😗
