ReplyDeleteThe fraud story of yesterday reminded me of something that happened to me sometimes back.... Relax and Read lol.
So one day during my internship, I followed the staff bus to Airport Junction (For those that know Abuja. I was going towards Maitama. I came down and was walking to where taxis were parked so I could take a drop. I got stopped by a man (accompanied by another) and he asked me where Catholic Church was.
I told him I ddnt know but knew of a Church just ahead. He said he had gone there but it was Christ Apostolic Church (That was true), so I said sorry I couldn't help.
I tried to walk away and he stopped me saying he heard it was in life camp, I said yh, I think I had seen a Church then he begged me to pls show him that he was a foreigner and scared of people bla bla. And he had kept some laptop with a Revd sister bla bla...
Well,I cut him short and said I was in a hurry and wasn't interested in his laptop but will just show him and he said we could use a taxi...
As we crossed to get the taxi (which I figured later was already waiting), a man from nowhere tapped me and said "be careful" and walked away.
Immediately, I turned back without a word... they kept talking and pleading.... I just crossed back got into my taxi (I ddnt even bargain cos of how scared I was) and immediately I Sat, seems my eye turned and I started recalling all I wouldn't do on a in good day.....
I don't engage in conversations on the road except it's a direct question. I don't even wait when you begin.
My default answer is usualy "No". I don't know anything and I dont try explaining.
How in heavens name did I even cross to follow them into a taxi...if you know me, you will understand.
God bless that man... I pray for him everyday even tho I don't think he was human. Maybe an angel. Cos how did he know I was following them? I kept a distance. How did he know we talked, we were on opposite directions.

It's beyond just words. I heard of someone it happened to on that spot (she was in her car. It took years to regain herself.
It wasn't greed cos I was SINCERELY not interested in nothing. How would I even explain a strange laptop to my parents that were 100% responsible for me then when my laptop was still good. My intention was to show them, use the same taxi and go to where I was going.
I think my mistake was saying a word. Maybe they played with my psychic or Jazz I don't know but I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL TO GOD FOR COMING THRU cos with the stories I hear, wouldn't ve survived that, maybe I would be even been dead.
I thought I was an extremely careful person. Now,I understand the "guide me oh Lord" prayer better... pls, always pray before you step out whether you are driving or not...Dont be too in a hurry and be watchful and apply wisdom... Thank you...

Oncoming
y going, a man approached me and said he is
coming from Cotonou(he spoke Igbo actually), that he is looking for so so so school,(and I don't reply strangers on the road at all) I told him I've not heard of that school all through my stay in this area.
In the process a man driving a motorcycle passed and he stopped the man(I guessed they're together). And as he was talking to the man, I started moving forward. He realized I was going and called me back, I refused.
Then the okada man came to meet me and said we should help the man to locate where he his going that he is a foreigner and bla bla bla.
Immediately, I finish listening to what the okada man was saying, I kept moving without saying a word.
The okada man was busying calling out that I should plz come let's help the man na.
Story!
I ignored them.
I got to where I wan to buy the things I needed and from there I turned back to look at them.
I saw that the okada man carried the Cotonou man on his bike and left.
Their plan didn't work. And I'm sure they were on to the next victim.
I guess its jazz they used. Because at a point, I started saying the 'Blood of Jesus' inside of me.
I just thank God for helping me that day.
Na wah oh! Such irony of life, Girls in their Teenage years and in their 20's have a 5 page list for the ideal guy...At 40, it becomes just 5 letter words "Lord let him be breathing"

Please what do you think I should do?
I have been with a company for more than one year, I gave birth to my baby 6months ago. Since I had the baby my boss asked me to close 5pm instead of the normal 7pm...i did that for 3months. mind you we are into buying and selling so we close late.
Yesterday she came to the shop and told me she has tried for me and that form next month I should go back to my normal time which is 7pm...i begged her to allow me start in January that my baby cries alot when I get home late, she refused and said I should think about it before month end if I can't resume the normal time I should stop and stay at home.
Plus what should I do, I have told my husband he doesn't know what to say because the little salary helps somehow, I don't want to stay at home without working but I can't go back to the normal time yet cos of distance and baby... It means I'll get home 9:30pm everyday. I have already made up my mind to stop cos of my baby, but I still need your advice on the issue.

DeleteIf you can afford to get somebody who will stay between that 5.30 to 9.30 ie 4 hours everyday that will help. I know of a couple whose wife was faced with this issue. She and the husband went an met a grandma who took them as her children that stays close by, explained all to her and grandma was happy to babysit the child until the mother could get another job with reasonable working hours.
