Sunday In House Gists - Sleeping Off During A Convo...

Have you ever been on the phone trying to fight off sleep and the next thing you know it is Morning and you are shocked and wondering if the call ended well..?

Have you ever slept off during any conversation or meeting or have you even been in a situation where you have to battle to stay awake?

I have been on a call before when i suddenly heard the person saying hello and asking If I was there...
I said i was and wondered why until it dawned on me i was battling to stay awake....If the person laughs i would suddenly wake up and say network didn't let me hear what the person said and he would repeat....

I woke up the next morning and last thing i remember was being asked a question........chai!!!!

Or closing your eyes in church and pretending to pray until you open them and church is over?

LMAO!!!

  1. there's a state of sleep I will enter, I will visibly be awake but I can tell you my best kept secrets. My husband took advantage of this to ask me how many men I'd slept with. My marriage hasn't been the same since.

    6. Guess your husband didn't really consider the stability of his home before asking you that question, now that he has known how has it increased his ego or pocket....SMH people should always leave things as they are and not poke the bear

    2. My mil can't gist for Africa. That woman would carry the award for gist if there were to be an award. Choi. She can start the gist in morning and continue later in the day of u say u are tired. And when she wants to start later, she would be like ehen, where I stop sef? Me I would be like ermmm, mummy I can't remember o. She would now start the gist from beginning.

Chai, that woman amebo na top notch. Things that happened when I was not even born, she will gist me. I get tired listening to her sometimes.

Same thing with her phone conversation. When that midnight calls was reigning, ha this woman called me the first time at midnight. I was scared that maybe something happened. She just started gist. For more than 30mins. It was when I realised she just wants to gist that I just gave myself brain and pretended as if my baby was crying and ended the call. The next time she called at midnight, I just ignored the call.

    4. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚that phone ish is so me. I hate people touching my phone.
For example I show you a picture and then you look at it and do extra by swiping continuously to the next and next, I'd tell you to hand it over as I want to make a quick call πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
Not like there is anything off but I just don't like people invading my privacy.
You see exactly what I want you to see and that's it. No extras.

@Justyswt, how do u cope with her? Because from my perspective, we may have problem cos of that alone. I hate talking much and I can't handle someone that does esp gist. My mum knows that so she goes straight to the gist and when I have said what I want to say, I tell her bye and she will be like 'stay and listen me more nah'. Sometimes when I don't know how to tell her to stop, I remind her of my distaste straight forward. Hmm

    8. @greatlady, these day I just tell her mummy I don't have strength for gist now. And she would let me be. Even my hubby used to tell her off most times that she comes with her gist.

  8. I tell my children stories before they sleep. On this faithful day, I was so tired and they had taken a nap during the day, so were wide awake. It was a disaster,I couldn't follow my own thought process, whereas I always make up the stories my self. I woke up the following morning and asked my daughter to narrate the story to me. I was surprised it made sense. How tortoise ate cocoyam and rabbit the doctor asked him to tell the truth. Mtcheeeewwww.... Motherhood. I try to avoid story telling because it makes me dizzy and sleepy too. I'll rather read my Sdk blog jor

  10. I dose off a lot too, I also did last night, dreaming I was wedding/attending a wedding in cape town, S.A. My memory of it is quite hazy, probably #baad17 lol! but i like the transcending feeling of falling asleep, so i always end the call, and drift into dreamland. Sleepimg has always been a hobby.

  11. I do that a lot n my big baby has complain until he is tired of complaining about it. When he is not at home, n we are chating,I will sleep chat n start writing jagons. He will just say, Iyawo goodnight. I will wake up the next day to find the crazy things I was typing. When he is at home n we are gisting, I will just fall asleep. Iyawo are you sleeping , I will say no. Am listening. He will just say ok, goodnight. I talk alot like a parot during conversations, so ones i am quiet in the middle of a conversation , forget it am sleeping. It happened ones during a meeting at work n i felt so embarrass. I woke up with my collegues laughing. That day was diffent bc I went for a vigil the previous night. I normally don't like sleeping at work or in a meeting . ...

  12. My worst scenario was when I was still dating hubby.
We lived in two different locations.
Most times we get to talk at night as the daytime was work filled.

He would call and talk and talk and talk....how his day went, how this happened, how that happened, how his guys came to take him to here and there..
And me? I don de doze...
Funny enough the warning signs of dozing knocks for him to take a que but he will still be narrating.

While he runs his dailies by me, I am like uhmm, aww, nmmhh....all those ones na sleep I de so ooo. Before i know its 6am and i am like wait? Shit! I slept off on him.

Then I quickly pick up my phone and call him and he'd be like "but I was asking you if you are sleepy so we can end the conversation" but you kept saying "no, go on, I am enjoying the gist" πŸ˜‚(this I had no idea when I said so)

And then he goes "Baby please always let me know when you are tired ok, it's very annoying being at the other end yet talking to myself"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

And I go i am so sorry hun. It won't repeat itself. But for where? The very next night we are back to square oneπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  15. I do this anytime someone calls me around 9:pm upwards and talks for more than 5mins. I'm usually very tired at this time of the day that all I want to do is just sleep. The person will be talking and I will be saying 'hunn? hunn? and credit will be burning. in also don't call around this time.
