Yesterday IHN many persons gave useful insights on why it is right to tithe, I'm not going to support/discredit the fact that it is right to 'tithe', after all we are all accountable for our actions. So if you believe in 'tithing' go right ahead. If you don't, well whatever rocks your boat.

Let us stop basking in our self righteousness because that alone can stop blessings from God. God looks inside so if we and people around us feel we are good, God might not see us as so when he looks inside our hearts. He just might see a hypocritical judgemental person. This alone is a put off for him.
A sinner in our eyes might just be God's favourite and when we see their lives moving ahead we question God and start listing how "good" we are (basking in our self righteousness all over again).
In summary let us always try to make inside our minds beautiful having it in mind that's where God looks at when he decides to bless us.

I used to wonder why bad things happen to people who are dedicated. Seeing some comments yesterday on IHN lifted my spirit. I used to pay my tithes, contribute to welfare, sowed seeds and also give to the needy around me. I also try not not to hurt people and stay away from fornication. My job was not that OK and I was hoping and believing God for for better job but instead things took a turn for the worse. I was owed for three months. I had to stop going to work as I was tired of borrowing. I became angry with God and stopped going church recently. Seeing comment of bv Bipolar me This morning in reply to Minnie respect who asked why bad things happen to good people and also the anon who talked about giving and not expecting anything in return, I changed my perspective. I have begged God for forgiveness and hopes he does forgive me.
