The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Yahaya Garba, on Wednesday said the accused had not been promoted or transferred by the ministry, adding that the ministry was not shielding him from prosecution. Garba noted that Mohammed had been suspended from the school, while 50 per cent of his salary was being withheld pending the outcome of the case in court.
He said, “As a ministry, we did not want to make any public announcement of our stand, but because the issue has gone viral, we have to come out to state our stand. I will like to say that the Niger State Ministry of Education is not in any way shielding Mallam Mohammed. When the case got to us, we directed the state secondary education board to set up a seven-man committee.
Based on the recommendation of the committee and the acceptance by Mohammed that he committed the crime, the Ministry of Education has placed him on half salary. We have also mandated Mohammed to take up the upkeep of both mother and child for THREE YEARS. Mohammed has not been promoted or posted anywhere. He is still serving his suspension. The ministry will finally decide on his case after the court has concluded deliberation on it.”
The permanent secretary further stated that the willingness of the ministry to pay the money needed to carry out the DNA test was to expedite the case in court.
Garba then decried the increasing rate of moral decadence in the society which is impacting negatively on the school system stating that the Ministry is set to deal with any staff who is found guilty of molesting or extorting their student.

*This man should be sent to jail for Violating this beautiful young girl....pervert!!!
This is so sad....wicked paedophile
ReplyDeletePaedophiles are much in the Northern part of Nigeria. But who will prosecute him when our so called law makers are guilty of the crime. After they will quote sharia law for you.
ReplyDeleteSo after 3 years who would be taking care of the child?? Jokers!
ReplyDeleteSame question I wanted to ask.
DeleteThat means after the 3years, he practically drops responsibilities of the child for the girl to suffer.
After 3 years, who will pay school fees? Did a judge actually rule this?
ReplyDeleteOnly for 3 years? Then what happens after. This is why I prefer oyibo people, he would have paid child support till the baby turns 18. And what happens to the idiot being charged for child molestation? Poverty na bastard.
ReplyDeleteAswear.Poverty na real bastard.
DeleteSuspend kei!?
ReplyDeleteHe should be sacked!
THIS MAN IS A PAEDOPHILE AND AN INSULT TO THE EDUCATIONAL PROFESSION. I HOPE HE GETS LOCKED UP IN JAIL
ReplyDeleteNot fair enough
ReplyDeleteI don't know why they are making sex between an adult and a child consensual. So after 3 years the child would no longer be his child or what? God save us from pedophiles disguised as responsible members of society.
ReplyDeleteThank God for social media oh, if not for the outcry, this man would have gotten away with his evil deeds and I'm sure the ministry was shielding him till the whole SM noise started.
ReplyDeleteOnly God knows how many others he destroyed their lives already before he met his Waterloo.
He has to serve the penalty for rape ( yes rape, cos the girl is underage and the consent debate doesn't even come up here) of a minor and abuse of office. Foolish, evil spawn of the devil.
Yinmu @stellas response
ReplyDeleteSo after taking up responsibilities for 3 years, what happened to the other years to come.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder we have plenty bambialas everywhere. When nothing, this one will join herdsmen
