Everyone has a different opinion concerning Tithing but the most important thing is you do not allow yourself to be misled by another person's point of view or reasoning.

There are so many places tithe was quoted /talked about in the bible. So why is it that it's only Malachi that people quote while talking about tithe? You can't just read one chapter of the bible and come out to educate people. Read so many others before talking. I haven't seen a christian that doesn't believe in tithe. The argument so far is if it's only in the church that you pay tithe and the answer is No. You can pay tithe to the orphanage, for the upkeep of the less privileged and the widows etc that's the essence of tithe. So it's only those that don't read the bible that are still arguing this tithe issue. My people perish because of lack of knowledge.

Remember in book of revelations the bible said we should neither add nor subtract nor misinterprete the word of God.

There are a lot of Christians that don't believe in tithe. Jehovah Witnesses don't tithe. Tithe was made because of the levites that do not have any land inheritance unlike the other tribes of Israel. All they were required to do was to work at the temple, they were not suppose to farm. So the other tribes of Israel were to give the levites 10% of their farm produce.
DeleteWe don't have the levites anymore, and that is why there was no mention of tithe among the 1st century Christians, instead they were encouraged to contribute voluntarily towards the kingdom work.
LEP I hope you know the bible was formed from the combination of different individual books which where all scattered in different places(written in scrolls).. So that part" we should neither add nor subtract nor misinterprete the word of God", belongs to just Revelation.
DeleteNevertheless, it can or cannot be applied to other books. Cos a lot was removed from other written scrolls before they where interpreted, re written and assembled.

ReplyDeleteThere is no greater tithing than giving to the poor,widors, orphans or paying to poor pastors... that's the essence of tithing in the bible. No pastor will open your eyes to the truth about tithing. Read your bible, the answer is there. Stop dashing your monies to jet owners in the name of tithing. Funny enough these pastors won't even lift a finger or spare a penny to help their church members.

ReplyDeleteI believe in tithing but you see, God has not changed, his words have not changed BUT Men of God have changed to god of Men. So i decided to also change my tithings. I will rather give to the person next to me in need than to a church. I will rather choose one person every months in church that i see is in need of money, present to the person and pray. I give my 10% to the poors and widows. The tithes even in the old testament was meant for the poor and widows, the church did not use it, they gave them to the widows. Today's pastors are greedy, driving expensive cars, flying in private jets, their kids studying abroad, when the person that comes every morning to sweep the church still struggling to afford a 3 square meal. And don't you dare tell me my reward is in heaven, that you don't even know if you will be there or exist. I live for earth and on earth shall i share whatever i have.
ReplyDeleteThose who want to give to church/pastors can do so, mine goes straight to someone's pocket and seeing that smile on their faces, their prayers towards me is all i want. My house still full and God still fill my house with goodness.
Many of the rich people on this planet don't give tithes but are on humanitarian missions. They help people, Oprah never talked about tithes, she is not even married and many will say she lives in fornication but yet God blessed her beyond imagination.
It's up to you, i remove my 10% and give the one in need in the name of God. Simple!

ReplyDeleteI don't know why people confuse alms giving with tithing. God said bring your 10percent to His store house, He didn't say to His orphanage. Alms giving is a whole different thing. People be asking why Christians only quote Malachi for tithing.... Do you quote book of John for the 10 commandments? Is it not where it is stated. Sides Jesus made mention of tithing in the New Testament and He didn't say tithing is bad either. Just that the Pharisees were tithing and ignored other things. If you don't believe in tithing why not leave others that believe alone. Pastors are living large blah blah.... Sorry I wouldn't follow a poor pastor. Musicians and businessmen can be rich then it's Pastors that fit the poor life.

Love eating pussy. Go and read your bible well. Tithe is not only paid in church. The first man that paid tithe Abraham didn't pay it in church. He gave it to Methuselah who is a high priest he met on the road and so many other places. You can give to poor pastors not those that their store is already over flowing. The essence of tithe is to help the poor priests and the less privileged and widows etc not rich ones that their store is already overflowing. People pay tithe and yet cant help that poor widow who cant even feed 3times a day. I pay my tithe but to poor pastors in the village and the orphanages. I send my tithe to my Mother who pays it in the village church or I go to the motherless babies home and pay it there whenever I have it.

If you have read my write ups, you will see where I wrote that I pay to poor priests. Because by doing that, I an fulfilling Gods purpose of paying tithe which is to put food in his store house. I give to people that needs it not big churches and big pastors with overflowing store house. So understand the argument before calling me confusing because am not.
