The training, which was conducted for male youth beneficiaries, is consistent with the target of Mrs. Buhari’s programme, Future Assured, which are women, youth and children.
Mrs. Buhari’s message at the opening ceremony was delivered by the Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme in Kano state, Mrs. Ramatu Mukhtar Rabiu, where she charged the beneficiaries to use the skills they have acquired in building sustainable businesses to pull themselves out of poverty and help other youths.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Mrs. Buhari for giving them the opportunity to chart an economic course for their lives by providing them with useful and sustainable skills.
A breakdown of the skills trained indicate that barbing, rabbitry and catfish farming received 100 beneficiaries each, leather works received 50, while paint-making received the highest beneficiaries with 150.
The week long training, which commenced Monday 31st October, 2017 was concluded Friday, 3rd November, 2017.
