Actress Tonto Dikeh Says It Doesn't Matter If You Believe Her Story + Plans To Sue Her Ex-husband Churchill

Interview transcribed by Stella Dimoko Korkus Blog...

This is one of the Best Interviews ever conducted by Ebuka..He touched all the questions in ''your mind'' and the build up to the climax was Good!!!

This interview introduces the Brad New Tonto Dikeh.....Hopefully!

Nollywood actress and singer Tonto Dikeh was a guest on Rubbin’ Minds with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu recently
, where she discussed the exhausting backlash that followed her domestic violence and divorce with her ex-husband Churchill Olakunle, her foundation, her relationship, decision to keep her private life away from the public and her upcoming projects.

You have been in the news a lot lately, had it gotten to a point where it's exhausting you?

Yes I am there. That's why I just had to keep quiet and let the Lord handle everything. I am exhausted. Apart from being exhausted, I think they have a plan of just taking me backwards and backwards. I am realizing now that my responses doesn't help me or my brand, or doesn't even change the particular thing anyone has out there for me. So why even bother.

Do you regret doing any of those Interview you did, because they are a little too open? Do you think it's too much? Do you think you should have kept quiet all the time?

I do not regret any of the Interview because I just got to know that after my interview a lot of Domestic violence victims came out. A lot of people started getting saved. Naturally with all of the shame and back-bitting, the pain, and the losses begin to get to me. I wanted to regret it but I know I truly have someone out there.

Does it worry you that you did the Interview, we heard a lot about your marital issues with your ex-husband and domestic violence, cheating, e.t.c but a lot of people still don't believe you?

At first it bothered me a lot, I won't lie to you. At first it was killing me. But it got to a point where I realized that nobody cares about me or those sordid situation that happened in my home asides from me. Everything I am doing out there is just for entertainment for them. So nobody really cares about that. What I went through, I went through. I am not about to validate my pain or my past pain to anybody. I am just all about moving forward, dumping every weight that has held me backwards for a very long time and just being successful as much as I can. So whether you believe me or not I don't care. My name is Tonto Dikeh. I am a domestic violence victim, I am a survivor! I can't change that.

But I am sure you can see why people would have a lot of doubts now, we have seen videos, although you said it was edited; and your ex-husband continues to stand his ground that you in fact were the one abusing ? Why haven't you for example gone to court to put a press charge ?

I have been trying to drag him to court.

What's stopping you?

Nothing is stopping. We are still in the process. It takes time for all these things.

What will the charges be?

That is private, I do not intend to keep making a caricature of my private life. Everything that happens in court stays in court. I am done with the public!

Are you worried about your son, and how all these comes to him eventually? Are you worried that this comes to be a part of his story, considering how it is out there now?

That is still not for the public, that's for me as the mum to assimilate.

How is work, What is work now?

Work is fine. I am on a very exciting project, I can't tell you what it is yet.

Is it a movie?

No it's not a movie. I had started doing movies again, but I am very very guarded about the scripts I choose, because everything I am getting recently is what I have seen myself doing. I am not saying I am big on the movies right now but I am just waiting for that exceptional script. So movies is there but I have an exciting project.

So what is the project?

I am sorry, I can't tell you Ebuka. I can't let it out. I can't. But it is very exciting and I am sure it is something everyone of you have been waiting for.

She went on to state that through her Tonto Dikeh Foundation which is 10 years old, she will be building a school for the less privileged and victims of all forms of violence.

Are you still singing?

Yes I still sing

When are we hearing anything from you soon?

Actually I am doing something with a few producers and artistes. I haven't started but we have had the meetings.
Since I am in Lagos now, I will take other advantages and do some work in music too.

Are you still signing on to D'banj label again?

Oh no, I am not. We cut a long time ago. I am on my own now.

What about relationship now, you are out of marriage-an abusive one ; Are you starting to date again, are you open to being in a relationship any time soon?

I better don't answer that question. I am not answering any question about my personal life.

So basically you are not dating?

I am done talking about my personal life.

How is Hushpuppi? Are you guys just friends?

He is fine. I am not going to answer any question about my personal life.

So on a final note now, Let's talk about... raising your child, you did put up a picture of you dressed as his father on Father's day; Being his parent, do you think you needed to do that because it now looked like an act as against being there for him?

It wasn't an act. Like I said I am in no position to validate what I do. I have come into an immense happiness, an immense sense of belonging with who I am that I don't need to explain what I do.

As long as it has to with my child, my family...I am not going to explain it. I as a mother will only have to strive to do what's best for my child. I can never use my child as a bait for hate. That's one thing that I will never do. But I don't owe anybody an explanation to why I do what I do. He is my son.

So you will do it again, as long as you feel that's the right thing?

Definitely!

What do want the Tonto Dikeh's Story to be, looking to the future, What do you want the Tonto Dikeh to be known as Ideally?

I am actually known as a very strong woman, that's something I strive so hard to attain. Being a strong woman, it's inspiring to all the people who go through half or even maybe what you are going through, seeing you go through it, coming out and being who you are, being happy and refined.

Asides that I would love people to see the better side of me, giving in particular, because that's my passion. That's my life because when you talk about Tonto Dikeh, I am big about giving. I have said this a lot of time, before I got into entertainment business, I used to be so born-again. I was a member of a church that was big on giving. So I got that doctrine from there and I have been running with it for so long. So Philanthropy is something that has been in me. I want people to know that part.

*Someone please help me throw Ebuka high five Kisses for this interview...I like...
As for you Tonto.stay strong woman,I believe your story (YES I DO)and I pray God gives you the Ultimate healing you need to move on..I pray you keep to the common sense you displayed in this Interview!!!

I hope Mr. Big Church also countersue her.
I guess she is suing him for the short video that was released and showed that she was also abusive and that she's in need of immediate psychological help.

Linking baskets everywhere.... Maybe, just maybe someone will move on and let God.
