    1. Village people might not necessarily be those in your Village. They might just be anyone who do not want your progress or good health.

I remember a lady I went to school with, after 4years and completion of both project and seminars. Just to defend and get her result, she said she didn't want to go to school again. She left everything she had toiled for and never returned.

Why then did you bother writing and submitting the work. We concluded that her village people had sat on her matter o.

    2. Stellz I have encountered them a lot. One is in ihn today. A couple of years ago, a medical doctor 2nd cousin of mine who my mum trained in school but practically turned his back on us when I lost my dad, went to tell my mum I was wearing revealing clothes on Fb (which wasn't true). My mum is my best friend, she knows every single thing about me and we gist a whole crazy lot too. One day, she called me (obviously in a bad mood over what she heard). I kept pushing over why she sounded moody until she opened up and told me. I calmed her down and explained as much as I could and she understood me. The next time I saw her, I showed her the pictures and that was the end. Was he expecting her to disown me or beat me or what? I still laugh thinking about that experience. The picture I sent to Stella for FOIHN is on my Fb, whatsapp dp and instagram.. If my family and closest friends are cool with it, your empty opinion doesn't count.... Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwa in bv d'royalty's voice

We have a village person present in the house always on the phone gisting about the house what she ate and what she did she says good morning in a flash and you turn to say hello but she has disappeared everything you do is been reported to her parents and surprisingly everything just became so difficult after she came in and the stretching of legs on the sofa.... My spirit tells me her family has actually sent her to prepare a ground to take over cos why would a visitor dictate what to eat and use your stuff without permission maybe am just disillusioned nah but why does she always put her foot on the chair when she sits even in the dinning I pleed the blood

  6. they are those evil old men and women who someone is somehow related to them mostly not by choice but by circumstances lol. they sit and paddle the affair of a relative and sometimes non relatives in the spiritual realm. their goal is to destroy and render one future useless. they would rather have plenty nonentites in the family than have reasonable and responsible fellows. their rationale for doing that is still a mystery to me and thousand of others.

  9. Village people are really evil. That reminds me of when my mum went for a training that lasted more than a year, granny requested we come stay with her instead of dad getting a nanny. This village woman came to visit and poisoned the food i was to eat without knowing someone was watching her. She was caught red handed while trying to feed me,the embarrassment wasn't a small thing, at last she confessed and mentioned the man that sent her. The surprising thing is that she was sent by the man whom my dad rejected his offer of marrying his daughter, so he vowed to destroy him and family. I can't remember how it ended cos i was very young, get scared each time they talk about it.
The fear of village people is the beginning of wisdom

  20. In other words "household enemies" na who know man na him dey kill am. Me I have chained them with these words "...because their gathering is not of the Lord, they shall surely fail".

Something terrible happened to my cousin years ago. He got back from work, freshened up, sat down on the dining to eat, just to put swallow in the mouth and that was it. His wife found him dead in that position. On the day of his burial, a native doctor that lives like two compounds away hired tradition dancers to celebrate his passing and to spite the dad. In his words (ND) "let me see how you will drink tea again (milk and Milo), talk more of having enough to share. Come and boast again now" SMH. My cousin was quite rich and generous, he even helped the native doctor's son to secure a job in his organization, he died without having any children, and his parents never remained the same again.
That is the real village people.

But this one we use as slang is just to laugh away an embarrassing situation, mistake or a not so serious challenge. Like my embarrassing Lekki beach jjc experience 😁😁😁 and how my village people did me in, story for another day.

Parents should also learn how to shut up,not everyone is happy for you.
They be like come and thank God for me oooo Chiwe has gotten a big job, meanwhile the person you are telling child is struggling with weac and they are age mate, once that person becomes envious anything is possible.
Parents should learn to hide the head of their children stop blowing trumpet up and down

  24. But the village people slang is more of a joke now than it's actual meaning. Once you see it in comment, people post it deliberately to make others laugh. Like me I use it once in a while for the fun of it

  25. Iya Oshoronga of Blogosphere AKA Mrs Always RIGHT3 October 2017 at 15:22

My mother in law jisted me about a woman that was 'so nice' living on her street when she was young. She said this woman loved to give people sweets and biscuits so people loved her for her generousity, hmmm,lo and behold her eldest daughter died suddenly and everyone sympathised with her cos to them, mama was such an 'angel' and did not deserve this. A few years after the death of her first daughter, the last born(girl) became ill but refused to die, the mama suddenly clutched her throat shouting that something is stuck in her throat and she was rushed to a clinic, eventually when doctors did not see what was stuck in her throat, mama confessed o, that she ate her first daughter that died and was in the process of eating her sick last born when a bone got stuck in her throat. This mama was left to die and her other children ran away. Aiye le. A mother eating her children. I laugh when people say there are no witches.

  27. Just a funny way of explaining away an embarrassing situation or circumstance..

Not the inherent belief of most Africans that there are people dead set against they progress...

P.s - I do not acknowledge the supremacy of any gods, I do not call their names or give them the glory for anything that happens in my life or that of my life. My acknowledgement is of YHWH alone. Life and death is in His hands, still he gives me the power of choice and sets consequences for my decisions though through His love Ioving -kindness, he never letse suffer them all.

    1. You are right about God. He alone is to be acknowledged. But the fact still remains that there are people who hate your guts. Let us not be ignorant to the devices of the enemy (village people aka unfriendly friends, devil etc)

  30. Village people de operate oh. A healthy person will travel home and return back sick to the point he cannot walk anymore. All muscles collapsed. Before then, a lizard was found with the back broken with a red rope tied on the back and placed by the side of the house. RIP dad. You are in a better place.

  31. Village people. Hmmmm. Let me tell you my own.
The Bible is truly correct when it said "the enemy of a man is a member of his household".
My aunties are the village people in my own life. The one from my mother's side is the one that informs the one from my father's side. They are wicked and ruthless. My mother's younger sister lived with us all our lives. Even marriage was done for her like a daughter but a month after my father died. The story is too long and I don't have time.
I will write book about village people. Envious, evil and wicked. Their minds are sold out completely to the devil. All we need is God to help us weather the storm.
