Super Eagles Now On 41st Position On FIFA List And 5th In Africa

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved to 41 in the world and 5th in Africa in the latest ranking released by the Federation of International Football, FIFA released on Monday. Nigeria was 43rd in the last ranking and has now moved up to 41.

A big  improvement.

The Super Eagles have been having a smooth run the 2018 World Cup qualifier in Russia as the team is yet to lose a game and has already qualified with one game at hand. However, Tunisia have moved top of FIFA’s African rankings for the first time in 15 years.

BBC reports that earlier this month, Egypt reached the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

Meanwhile, fellow African sides Eritrea and Somalia share the lowest spot in the rankings – 206th – with four other nations.

Africa’s top ten on October’s Fifa rankings – global ranking in brackets:

Tunisia (28)
Egypt (30)
Senegal (32)
DR Congo (35)
Nigeria (41)
Cameroon (42)
Morocco (48)
Ghana (52)
Burkina Faso (55)
Ivory Coast (61)
