President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the name of Mrs Aishah Ahmad to the Senate for confirmation as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Mrs Ahmad is expected to replace former CBN Deputy Governor, who retired early in the year.
According to statement by Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president presented Mrs Ahmad’s name to the senate in accordance with the provisions of “Section 8(1) (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007.”
The statement quoted the President as urging the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, “To consider the expeditious confirmation of Mrs Ahmad, who would then resume work immediately.”
Also Buhari has written to the Senate, seeking the confirmation of the appointment of members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the CBN.
The statement said they are to replace “four members, whose tenure expires at the end of this year.
Those nominated include: Professor Adeola Festus Adenikinju; Dr Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi; Dr Robert Chikwendu Asogwa and Dr Asheikh A. Maidugu.
After Senate clearance, the new members of the Monetary Policy Committee are to resume duties next January,” the statement added.

ReplyDeleteIs this Asogwa the inlaw of fomer gov. Nwodo?
ReplyDeletePlease nobody should come here talking connections, or that it's because she is a northerner. THis lady is MORE than qualified for this position. She is both a CFA charter holder and a CAIA. These are two of the toughest globally recognized investment banking certifications. They are extremely tough exams to pass. Also she has two masters degrees, one from Cranfield, one of the UKs toughest investment banking exams, and the other from unilag. She has over 20 years experience in retail banking, commercial banking, and investment banking, infact her CV is beyond intimidating, especially considering she is just 40 years old.
ReplyDeleteI personally don't know Mrs Ahmad from anywhere. I googled her name when I read about her appointment, and I must say I am beyond impressed. This is a clear case of required qualifications, experience, and competence.
As people, whe should try to not to bring tribalism into everything. Let's commend competence when we see it.
Ogini na ahio 😂
DeleteGod bless you. People here just like talking others down. Everything is connection and tribalism once it didn't suit them.
DeleteThat lady is over qualified for the job, that's why she was appointed. After all she's a Nigerian like everyone of us.
Your capacity will meet your opportunity. Build capacity.
Delete- Pastor Godwin Uwaba'men, Discovery conference 2017.

DeleteOver 20yrs in retail n commercial banking. Did she start at 19.
DeleteIs okay, our treasury is about to be empty.
ReplyDeleteWhere is your sense front or back?
DeleteJibrin from Sudan not Buhari. Buhari is dead long ago. All hail Biafra.
ReplyDeleteIlliterates are better than most of you Nigerian youth. No sense of leadership, can't argue constructively. You don't read or research on anything. That's why people like Kanu can be brainwashing you..
DeleteIt's a pity
There is absolutely nothing i wont see in this country. What experience can this 40 year old woman bring to the table now? This man know man thing should not finish this country o. A woman that does not even have ordinary doctorate should come and be deputy governor of economic policy in CBN? I hail o. Make una continue. For una mind now 2019 far like that. Issorait.
ReplyDeleteTake a chill pill and quit the sentimental gibberish. If only you had done ur research, you wouldn't open ur mouth to say that about someone you don't know.
DeleteShhhhhhh
So you are waiting for an old cargo to be appointed and you call yourself Nigerian youth? These are the reason people like Bode George want to die hevsuse of politics because they think they are the best hand for the job. I'm ashamed of you
DeleteKai some Nigerians are as good as hell...
DeleteHave you tried to Google her name?
What a waste of mb
Sigh!

ReplyDeleteFunny Nigerians complaining that she is just 40 years old no experience. Yet you complain about old cargoes. So what age is the right age
ReplyDeleteThis woman tight! Super qualified.
ReplyDeleteBubu got the right candidate.
People should ask GOD before they accept 'certain' jobs. Some leave you drained and your reputation in shreds after your tenure. Indeed there is a way that seems right unto man but ...... I hope she knows how to do eye service and play politics at the roughest and dirtiest level, if not
ReplyDeleteGo and read her profile before you make any insultive comments.#goals#
ReplyDeleteShe got dat based on her qualifications and the fact that she is a Northerner. The truth is a bitter pill to swallow. I know dere are more qualified people for the job. This is Jst lyk d case of the appointed Directors of NNPC, most of dem if not all are from the North. We have a very tribalistic president. If this is the change we were promised i wouldn't have voted for APC. It won't happen again come 2019.
