ReplyDeleteLol @ This and that.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahah...
ReplyDeleteMost Igbo mothers don't joke with their daughters getting married!....
Once you clock 20,they will start singing marriage to your ears...
If you are still living with her when you enter 30 years and above without a husband, they will make life unbearable for you!...
You will become her worst enemy!...
She will make sure she frustrate you!!...
Hahahahahahahahahahaaaha
DeleteBut seriously ,Yea some of them are like that.
I heard of one who Aksum her daughter to contribute to the expenses of the home. Not that she wasn't contributing before o. But her mom felt since she was now her co-neighbour cos she didn't want to marry and move out, that they split expenses evenly. SMH
Was shocked when I heard it!
Not fair! I just imagined the trauma the lady would be going via.
Firstly, she wanted to get married and no suitable suitors were coming. So that too was a challenge on its own part and instead of u the mother to be understanding and offer emotional support,u are maming it worse. Like She is the giver of husbands and like all her other achievements should be trumped just cos she isn't married yet.
Some of these mothers mentality thoughπ
Just like my mama is doing to me now
DeleteHehehehehe
DeleteQueen Amy, Pele
Just follow her with sense
My mum got tired of talking to me so now she gingers her sister to talk to me instead
Anytime her sister calls me, I know it's husband talk. Na me fit dem.

Lol. This one na normal thing now.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised ( or not ) that her mum is even the one initiating the talk, not the friend.

DeleteWhy did you delete your comment? Truth is if you play around with your mom this wont be new to you. The kind of 'posh slang' my mom use sometimes, leaves me wondering where she learnt them.

DeleteTook some time to enter university and one day she just dropped the bomb on me. "Nne, if you see a good man marry, I'll take care of the baby and when you're done with the school you'll take your baby back". I just stood up and left. They usually come from a place of love obviously but they still think we're in 1960 where if they say a man is good he's good. They dunno what is going on now.
