There was a mild drama Wednesday as the Senate walked out a representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Yusuf Tukur Buratai from its hearing following a petition on malicious compulsory retirement by Lt. Col. Abdulfatai Mohammed.
The walk out took place when Major Daniel Ehicheoya of the NA Directorate of Legal Services appeared before the Senator Samuel Anyanwu, PDP, Imo East led Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.
The Army officer appeared before the Committee to represent the Chief of Army Staff, was however asked to go back against the backdrop that he was not a very ranking military officer.
Members of the committee expressed displeasure that Buratai, despite his insistence that the letter inviting him to testify before them, must be signed by the Chairman of the Committee, instead of the Clerk as was the normal practice, still choose to send a Major, to the hearing.
