UNIVERSITY OF JOS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO HOLD MEGA REUNION AND DINNER

 There is nothing like a good reunion!!!

AN ADDRESS BY IDRIS YAKUBU, PRESIDENT, UNIJOS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION @ THE PRESS CONFERENCE HELD ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 15th, 2017 @ THE RAVE TV STUDIOS, ILUPEJU - LAGOS 

The University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) shall hold the 2017 Unijos Alumni Reunion and Dinner on Thursday September 28th, 2017 at the Yar'adua Centre, Abuja.

The event, arguably the biggest gathering of graduates of the University of Jos in a Reunion is being organized to bring Graduates of the University of Jos (Josites) together to network, reunite again, and discuss issues that would help attract the needed infrastructure to the University.

During the event, which shall be chaired by Prince Tony Momoh, Former Minister of Information & Chairman, University of Jos Governing Council, Alumni members who have distinguished themselves in their areas of calling shall receive awards, while Josites who recently got into Executive and Appointive positions in both the public & private sectors, would be recognized and celebrated.


Some of these Josites, are the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives,Hon Yakubu Dogara, 4 Josite Governors, their Excellencies Owelle Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Rt Hon Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Alh Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, and Alh Muhammed Abubakar of Bauchi State; Several Senators who are Josites; the 3 Josite Ministers, Mr Usani U Usani of the Niger Delta Ministry, Comrade Solomon Dalung, Youths & Sports Development Ministry, & Professor Claudius Daramola, Minister of State, Niger Delta and the 4 Josite Deputy Governors. Others include, former Inspector General of Police, Sir Mike Okiro, Supreme Court Justices, University Vice Chancellors, Senior Civil Servants and Captains of Industry, 

The new Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Seddi S Maimako (also a Josite) will be making his first major appearance among the Josites Alumni family, having assumed office in June 2016. 

The highpoint of the evening is unveiling a 3D presentation of the University of Jos Alumni Centre, a multipurpose Centre, and the most ambitious project to be undertaken by Alumni Members of Unijos in the History of the University, to be built on the University permanent site in Naraguta, Jos. This Centre shall incorporate a 500 seat Auditorium, a Banquet Hall, several meeting rooms, offices, Reception Lounges, Shops, an Internet bar, and an Honors arcade, amongst others.


All funds received during the event will be deployed towards building the Centre. 

There shall be a Lecture on the Strategic Role of Alumni in the development of Universities & our immediate Communities by erudite Jurist & Law Professor, C. J Dakas, also a Great Josite. Aside Comedian (Stanley Chibunna aka Funnybone), many other A List Acts like Senata & Singer Aramide, All Josites, are expected to thrill the audience, which shall include the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former Federal Ministers Pauline Tallen, Labaran Maku, and Prof Viola Onwuliri, 20 other Legislators from the National Assembly, and Industry Chieftains, like Igho Charles Sanomi.


Others expected at the event which starts with a Blue Carpet @ 5pm include, Nollywood Stars like Iretiola Doyle, Jim Iyke, & Desmond Elliot, Police Chiefs, Joshak Habila DIG & Wilson Inalegwu, CP, Traditional Rulers, Senior Lawyers (SANs), Members of the Unijos Management Team, Branch/Chapter Chairmen & and several other very distinguished Josites.

It promises to be an evening of fun, banters throwing, and Camaraderi as Josites are expected to attend from all over Nigeria, and the diaspora.
