The police in Bayelsa State have arrested a 47-year-old man, Moses Otimba, for impregnating his wife’s younger sister, Joy Mathew, and killing the male child five days after birth.
Otimba was said to have asphyxiated the child to death and buried him in a shallow grave at a river bank.
The suspect, an indigene of Ogbogoro community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, reportedly executed the devilish act in connivance with the 19-year-old girl.
Amba said Joy, who claimed to be under the influence of ”some spirits”, disclosed the incident to her mother three months after the act. Angered by the development, Joy’s mother reported the matter to the police, which swung into action and arrested the suspects.
Otimba, in his confessional statement said he killed the baby boy because he was ashamed to tell his wife (Glory) and his mother-in-law. He admitted killing the baby with the consent of Joy, after discussing his predicament with her.
She gladly gave me the baby to do whatever I wanted to do. My wife was not aware. But somehow, I did not know what happened. I learnt Joy told her mother who alerted the police and we were arrested.

ReplyDeleteThis is more common than we think. While staying with my aunty I almost experienced this. Her husband attempted sleeping with me thrice. This is a man in his 60s I consider a father because my dad is late.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I though I was dreaming. On the 2nd trial I made plans and left their house few months after. The man started making complaints about me. Cld be I go out late,im lazy etc. The wife started making life difficult for me also.
The funny thing is he has impregnated the house maid before that they had to stop hiring female maids. Even at church they have reporting him for sleeping with the members.
I didn't bother even telling her because if she can claim the maid seduced her husband what will she say about me.
I just told some key family members. So if tommorrow it comes up,I'm not termed a liar.
It is also not my wish to break a 30year marriage.
