Managing Director of Lagos State Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service (LACVIS), Segun Obayendo, said, “We are politically unpopular when we started official operation in March 2017. We encountered quite a lot of cynicism and skepticism as people had issues copping with the change in the price for inspection or wondered whether their vehicle will fail or pass.
The test checks the emission level of exhaust gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and others from a vehicle. If everyone chooses to be compliant, what we will have is improved air quality and other health and economic benefit.
The plan of the Lagos state government in the next three years is to build at least 57 computerized inspection centers across the state and the idea is that before any vehicle is issued the road worthiness certificate, such vehicle will have to undergo inspection.

What is really wrong with this Nigeria govt, they will not work on things that will make the citizens ease a sigh of relief from hardship, like low rate fuel, gas, and kerosene.cheaper food, good roads and create employment, build and equiped functioning hospitals etc,no they won't do such, they are only quick in implementing laws that will even make people more uncomfortable, like the new law on passport issuing, fiammm it's already in progress, this vehicle thing again.i'm not saying it's not good but try consider that some people are suffering, poverty rate is too high in Nigeria, work on how people will have food to eat and build housings in states for people to have roof over their heads.i don't just know how these politicians reasons
ReplyDeleteAnother money making venture, Lagos full of taxing ideas
ReplyDeleteWhy can't the government build good roads first, afterall the bad roads is part of what spoil people car,it'd easy for them to tackle the Nigerian citizens, but won't go to the root of the problems to solve that first....build good roads first, stupid govt
