ReplyDeleteI say Amen to that prayer. The Niger Delta has been devastated by the oil companies with nothing to show for it. Yet Hausa/Fulani 'own' about 80% of the oil wells. Ironically, some Niger Delta bigots are so blinded by their hatred of the Igbos that they prefer to remain slaves of the north than be free in Biafra.

Why not pray for Boko Haram to dry up? Why not pray for corruption both in high and low places to dry up? Please face your state , kaduna!
ReplyDeleteSince the oil wont dry up, why doesn't Nigeria operate a true federal system where each region survives on its own resources? That way the "easy oil money" will only spoil some states in the south, while the North will be "freed" from its evil grasp, and would use their brains to develop their region into a world leader.

The Niger deltans themselves, have they enjoyed the money from their oil? Are your own leaders not allowing u suffer in abject decay while they enjoy the free money? Even if the country is separated today, do u think u will automatically start to enjoy this money, when ur leaders are still there? But if u diversify, especially back to farmimg, don't u think ur region would be better off?

Delete@Lily Rose, the only point that El Rufai should be driving home is true Federal System or total separation. Truth be told, if Niger Delta oil Money went to Niger Delta states only, they can buy in any diversification they need. Alternatively, they can squander it till it dries up. Either way, it's their money and their problem. It is not your place to lecture them about holding their leaders accountable. You should concentrate on making your own leaders use brains to turn your region into world leaders because as far as I'm concerned its only Lagos state, which is almost entirely powered by wealth from oil, that is hanging in well.
