Cant Let ''You'' Go...

Have you ever been caught in the web of wearing one particular cloth, pant, bra etc for decades and you feel sad discarding it even with all the "loopholes"?

Has the item graduated from daytime to night time then a "monument" in your life/ wardrobe?

Blog Visitor Patience says

''Mine is a blue lace bra that followed me home from school in 2012 and became my best friend even when other bras were calling for attention.

The hook became rusted, broken, still I'd use pin to hold it . It's a long time I wore it but just can't brace up to throw it away. There is this deep connection between the "bra and I".

I caress it every time I search deep into the bra and pant bag and laugh. It brings this "happy memories and joy" each time I see it. Funny enough, the cup and hand is still clean and attractive but, the side elastic has become weak..... I'll buy hook for it and resume our love soon....Oh!

My bra....it gave me so much confidence....packs well and gives this fine shape in any clothe....lol...I can't believe I'm writing this much about a "BRA"

Your story is hilarious Pat.

What cant you let go of?
I have a black, very beautiful A-Lined fully open at the sides red carpet skirt that the Late Fashion designer Remi Lagos gifted me when i was relocating to the Diaspora......that gift was in 2004,still brand new after three times wearing but i still cant let it go.

  4. I usually don't hold sentimental attachment to stuff. I always keep an open mind that I can and will always get something much more better.
...but that doesn't mean I wont somehow miss my old stuff. Lol.

  10. The only thing I find difficult letting go is "money"

This post should be for my sister, she has problems letting things go... In primary school, she would keep all her notebooks, textbooks (she's older than me)... When she was in secondary school and I was in primary school (primary 4), I stopped copying notes because I had her notes at home.
Mind you, you must not rough handle the notes, it must be just as she left them (wrapped and neat). At some point, I thought it was normal, I started storing old books, notes it wasn't until we had a room almost full of books, roaches, and that old smell I realized we were almost going crazy... My mum, after years of complaining, finally took them all out and burnt them.
Some of the textbooks she used in secondary school were still here until recently (she's a university graduate). My younger cousins/siblings can't even use the books because they have become extinct.

Let me forward this post to her 😂

  19. Can't let go of my multicolor short lailai..back in school, my roomie declared one sat like that 'stealing day' that we shd steal just one cloth of our choice from each other, hmm, me wey dey eye her multicolor short, then she just bought it from OK. And she on the other side was eyeing my jean jumpsuit. Naso we steal each cloth oh. I still rock my short till date, can't let it go, not now abeg. She was shocked the day I snap with it and send to her, she never believe I still wear it.

  20. I'm so ashamed to tell you guys mine. This post is actually to shame me. If I told you there were items momsie bought for me to take to boarding school (jss1)that still followed me to my husband's house, would you believe? Make I stop biko. I'm the type that knows how to use things neat and well. And for me, if it doesn't spoil, it needs no replacement. May be because I go for the quality things which may be costly. Some items have probably VOWED never to branch in my house again. But today I want to turn a new leaf. So help me God....

  37. Lol. This is so funny! I have two things I remember now... There might be more. I have a special skill - I can keep things for Africa! Anyway, One is a black lace top I bought over twenty years ago. I dashed my daughter. She stopped wearing it. Instead of me to give someone, i took it back and continued wearing it. The second is a black and white skirt suit I bought over ten years ago. It is my "good luck"suit. Any interview I wear it to, I must get the job ooo. So, i refuse to throw it away or dash anyone even though the collar is as faded as anything and the skirt is getting too short sef.
