Young Ali sustained spinal cord injury after Boko Haram rode over him with a motorcycle as he slept which made it difficult for the young boy to walk again.
The medical bill for the spinal cord surgery to enable young Ali to walk again, was put at $48,000 (N17,500,000.00).
The Surgery will take place at a medical facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
During a visit to the offices of the Dickens Sanomi Foundation in Abuja recently, the chairman of the Foundation, Igho Sanomi pledged on its behalf to sponsor the full medical bill of Ali Ahmadu.
That promise was fulfilled on Sunday when Young Ali accompanied by Nuhu Kwajafa, the coordinator of Global Initiative For Peace, Love and Care (GIPLC), an NGO spearheading the campaign for the medical aid of the young victim, left the shores of the country to Dubai to receive the treatment.
The Foundation, which bankrolled the medical trip said Ali is expected back in three months.
The arrival of the boy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Sunday drew sympathy from many passengers who prayed endlessly for him and the Founder of Dickens Sanomi Foundation, Mr. Igho Sanomi who owns Taleveras Group of Companies.
Speaking before their departure, Nuhu Kawajafa said ” today the tenth day of September 2017, Marks a very important day, as we arrive the Nnamdi Azikwe International Abuja Airport, for our flight.
This trip triggers the beginning of young Ali Ahmadu medical journey to The United Arab Emirates for corrective surgery so he can walk again and live a normal Life as expected for a six year old.
“Its been about 4 months since GIPLC made contact with him and by the Grace of God via the altruistic nature of Igho Charles Sanomi, Chairman of Dickens Sanomi Foundation and its Board of Trustees, the expedition to recovery is now clear and present”.
Mr. Kwajafa also said ” Young Ali Ahmadu, a Six Year Old Boy from Borno State is a survivor of the brutality of Boko Haram, in Chibok, his story is a compelling revelation of the Nigerian benevolent spirit.
” As a result of the exposure and support by the leadership of the national assembly, Dickens Sanomi Foundation, and our brothers and sisters of goodwill, GIPLC continues to ensure that children like Ali stand a better chance at survival, growth and development. Come 10th sept 2017, Ali steps beyond the horizon of hope, to a life of endless possibilities”.
