There was this time that a bachelor came to rent my dad's house. Though my dad never gave out his house to bachelors because he believed he had the finest daughter that ever liveth so as to avoid stories. But this bachelor was about to Wed and he came with his fiancee and he was given the flat.
Me and bachelor became friends and then he decided to try his luck and he started asking me out when that one no work he proposed, said if I agreed to marry him will call off his engagement Yimu I sha turned him down.
He got married, wifey moved in and heard about his fake proposals to me and she started keeping malice with me. I would greet her face to face and she won't answer not once or twice o na me sef begin dey face front.
That wasn't all, my dad's house is in the suburb and she came from the island. So we no hear word again for compound she begin dey form island babe. Any small thing if it were on the island this and that.
Anyways one day as I walked in to the compound I heard the Voice of the Lord. He asked me to start greeting her. I was like get thee behind me Satan for I refuse to believe say God will ask me to stoop so low. Later I repented because I knew it had to be God. Satan is never for peace. But it wasn't an easy task, the Lord then reminded me that as usher in church I greeted and was nice everyone but this one in my house I don't greet. I was like lord she started it.
The Lord said nevertheless continue greeting her. E go for better make them flog me 36 strokes than this one. I sha summon courage. I said lord na because na you o no Jupiter would have made me greet her if not you. At this point we had stayed over a year without talking to each other. So one day I saw her and greeted her she was startled but she didn't respond . I said lord you see wetin I dey talk.
Let me just be not everybody can be friends then I heard "I didn't say she would respond I said to greet her".
Then one morning on my way to work I saw her opening the gate for her husband to drive out I greeted her and surprisingly she replied. For my mind I was like she talk am or he fall comot from her mouth. They drove by and asked me if I wanted a ride I obliged.
(Before them no born the husband say he talk to me where she dey talk more of giving me a ride.)
Not long afterwards it started raining , she asked me where I worked and told her husband to drive further to where I could easily get a ride.
From that day we started talking ,we never became friends but the hostility ended.
And that guilt of keeping malice left and I continued my ushering work in peace.
It pays to obey God.

If I was the one I would have resigned and gone with my faith. But I've come to realise that everyone's risk appetite is differnt. Think of a way to leave work for a while and do courses/job search. There's something about being 'still' to enable you excercise your brain and clarify thoughts. You will find that there's alot that you're ignoring because you job is taking all the focus and putting you under stress. Even if it's leave take it first and relax.

ReplyDeleteWelcome IHN, having a good day everyone? So something last night on my street at about 10pm.we heard screams of a lady shouting thief! theif! My neighbors came out and so I did too. Only to find out that the lady was running from her boyfriend who has been beating her. According to the guy, she received a call from a man to go out and he asked her why she will be living with him and still go out to meet other guys which apparently wasn't her first time. She ran out of the house cos she was bent on going out as she was all dressed. The guy gave chase that was why she was calling him a thief. He beat her right there black and blue. The umbrella he used in beating her shattered on her body. As guys were trying to refrain him from her, she ran away to meet the guy waiting for her as her phone kept ringing. At that point I didn't even know who to blame but yes, the guy was wrong for hitting the girl and that wasnt even the first time but Why would a girl stay with a guy that is violent? why would a girl stay with a guy she isn't married to? why would a girl live with a guy and still go out to meet other men? On my way to work this morning, I saw this madam shaking her bum bum to the same house. Like really? I tire for this matter with girls. But what's my own? I'm just imagining the kind of beating she will receive today. Na wa
