His closest rival, Alex Obi-Ogbolu scored 190 votes while the third candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah polled 94 votes.
A total of 958 party delegates participated in the election.
Six aspirants had indicated interest to battle for the Anambra PDP governorship ticket, But three others – Stella Oduah, John Emeka and Linda Ikpeazu – dropped before the process began.
Earlier before the election, some of the aspirants alleged that the list of delegates to participate in the election had been hijacked.
They, however, called on the PDP Delegate Appeal Panel led by Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to look into the matter.
