ReplyDeleteStephen Spielberg is like the "Dr. Dre" of the movie world. Dreamworks studios has a lot of good movies in their arsenal and a lot of actors got their big break from working with him. He also inspired a lot of producers and directors.
ReplyDeleteAnother director/producer I love is Quentin Tarentino (I hope I didn't murder his name). His movies have this Weird but laudable vibe to them.
My favourite movies from Spielberg are and always will be Schlinders list and the colour purple.
Quentin Tarantino spills so mch blood in his movies, even a slap can produce pints of blood on the screen... and im slightly squeamish oh

I first heard that word in one of those very old skool war movies. I quickly went to checked the meaning and I just burst out laughing.
@fact1, when one is blessed, one is blessed.. we dont have to know it all, that "1 talent" can take us places people with multiple talents won't reach or will find hard to reach. Also, developing and making that little we have stand out makes us different.

ReplyDeleteI'm part of a scientific research team and yesterday I submitted my results only to have it torn apart by a jeans and nerdy T-shirt wearing, weed smoking, uber smart European dude who's no more than 25 and he was right, I made a huge mathematical error.
I need this desperately to make the final team (fully funded, Europe and life changing) and I am wishing so hard they look beyond that error to pick me come Sunday evening...If only to be able to see the pride in the faces of my parents who never got the chance at getting formally educated but did everything to ensure I did. Knowing a mathematical error might preclude me from getting that just breaks my heart.
God, you and I haven't spoken in years and I am not sure I believe in any deity these days but if you're out there, please make this work for me. I'll give a speech alright and it's you I'd be thanking.

My relationship with you is getting more cold and I'm sinking into one horrible pit you detest. I pray I find a way to drop and come back to you. I will remain grateful to you all my life God.
And there's always a high increase of this 'horizontal refreshments ' during war. During the Nigeria Biafra war, a lot of women engaged in it to survive, either for an exchange of their life or for food. Life happens at times. And I once wondered what will happen to the women if they are to be judged by God.... i hope it's understood that desperate times calls for desperate measure (in this case)
