Just got promoted from a customer care officer to a project manager/overall customer care executive head.
I can't thank God enough,olowogbogboro is at work.Never saw this miracle coming.
I started as an invoicing officer after staying at home for a year after service. During my stay at home,I kept myself busy by learning makeup and hair making then the job came.
The pay was so small but I accepted it wholeheartedly,from that post I was moved to customer service which I gave in my best and all. At a point I was really down,but thanks to hubby who kept assuring me that I haven't gotten to the peak and quitters don't win nor succeed.
Just yesterday the Hr called me to come for a letter. It was a promotion letter with a fat salary.

My mum is your friend and you have not spoken since how many years in fact more than ten years, you remember you will come for a promotion interview that you always come for only now the person that used to accommodate you is dead according to you. Out of the blues you call her, my mum the softie that she is couldn't say no. Ok you come with your miserable garden eggs and dry fish and you are welcomed with a sumptuous meal in this Buhari era. E no do you, you will stay for give and take two weeks.

My people is she not supposed to go back and come back say next week Thursday? First you tell my mum you don't like tea ok I serve you rice in the morning and you request tea again! Abuja is too cold the effrontery! But that's not all.
On Thursday 3 days after you came you are giving out our address on phone bam another iya comes with a gigantic box. You didn't tell anyone she was coming. I text my mum and she was lamenting about you not telling her but people at her work place say she should endure. Two iyas this morning I thought they were going somewhere but no they took tea and are lying around gossiping what I don't know. This will be the pattern till next Friday.
I have read riot act for my mum. I will never leave my room for anybody again even if they are my aunties. I am not anybody's servant. The fact that my place of work folded up doesn't mean I should stay and serves two old women that should be nearing retirement if not retired and in their villages. You should see my mum back from work and running into the kitchen to serve old women that have folded their arms gossiping since morning. I won't help her so she will learn for next time.
My mum is a widow nobody helps her she is good to a fault and bears burdens only I and her know she can't carry. My siblings what do they know? I see all these because I am always around. I try my best even with a side hustle that only pays once in a while. I hope she learns from this experience and learns not to displease herself to please someone else. Wishful thinking though.
So for the next one week we are accommodating, feeding running hot water (she told me she bathes with very hot water Kai!), electricity, toiletries, etc for two old women in this economy. Out of no where. I pray God sees her heart and blesses her but this is pure foolishness (sorry to say that).
I have ranted..... Let me go and take my bath and do my makeupin *in Jenifa's voice* and wear my wig and leave the house for the women. At least let them see me in a different light apart from that all back, short and singlet wearing sister. The shorts I wore yesterday I know it will make part of their gossip lol. E no consign me. I pray they don't burn down the house before I return because switching on the cooker was work till I came out to help.
This wouldn't have been an issue if she had been in contact with my mum over the years, not brought another total stranger without telling anybody my people, if it was just 3 days, everybody know wetin time dey talk na... Let me rest my case bikonu.
