Crooner Iyanya Talks About His Estranged Friend Ubi Franklin...

Ever since talented singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, parted ways with his former business partner, Ubi Franklin, there have been lots of reports that the duo are not on good terms.

Both parties have repeatedly stated that all is well between them but their social media posts point to the contrary.

There have been lots of Twitter and Instagram posts by both parties, which many have translated to be veiled attacks. The latest episode happened some weeks ago when Ubi attended the BET awards with Tekno and made a post in which he wrote, “So one man said when I leave, you will suffer. But when you know man is not God, just smile and keep working hard.”

A lot of people immediately concluded that Ubi’s post was directed at Iyanya. Shortly after that, Iyanya also wrote in a post, “Before you call someone your real friend, you better fast and pray…nobody needs old friends with evil intentions.”

However, when Sunday Scoop reached out to the Kukere singer, he maintained that he has no ill-feelings towards Franklin. He said, “Why would people think that I’m not happy with Ubi’s success? It doesn’t make any sense. People just feel that whatever I tweet is directed at Ubi, and that whatever he says online is directed at me. That’s not so.

We have all moved on with our lives. I do not fear anybody so if I want to talk about anybody, I would tag the person. If I don’t tag anybody in my social media posts, that means it’s just a general post and I’m not talking to anybody. People should just let it go. Sometimes, I post things because of what I heard or about life in general. I’ve got nothing but love for Ubi and Tekno right now.”

On how his career is faring, Iyanya said, “I have been getting amazing responses from fans over my songs. I thank God that I’m still here and I’ve got more music coming out. Expect more songs, videos and collaborations from me.”

Speaking about his love life, the singer said, “If anybody has a wife or baby mama for me, they should bring her.”

  4. Iyanya should shut up and behave himself. Which of his songs is a hit since he left Ubi Franklin for don jazzy. If don jazzy was so good as people claim, why has he not helped his younger brother to blow in the music industry?
What about Dr Sid? How many hit songs has Korede Bello made? How many awards have the people under don jazzy won?
Yemi Alade is beating Tiwa Savage to win awards in Africa.
    They should park well jor.
One of don jazzy's boys should be competing with Wizkid, Davido or Tekno is he was a hit maker.
Anybody anywhere that says you won't make it if he or she leaves u is a bad and a terrible
    Liar.
