Did you hear about the Amended part of the Nigerian Constitution?I dont really get it so we need to discuss it....Please join in this if you know how the ropes are tied...
The Constitution was amended yesterday and one of the changes made renders acting President Osinbajo ineligible to contest in 2019. ..Are you Kidding me?Why not?
Thoughts?
Didnt hear of it too. People get in here and update us
ReplyDeleteHeard about it tho. Dunno why. All I know is that the #NotTooYoungToRun campaign has yeilded result. We marched from unity fountain to national assembly on Tuesday to demonstrate and finally our voice was heard. Any Nigerian national from 35 years old can now run for presidency.
DeleteHow stupid are we in this country? It is ok to allow wack ass military guys that did coup in the past to come and rule again but not allow a civilian Vice President to contest a second term. Dumb motherfuckers !
DeleteIf this post garners 50 comments I'll stop yabbing Linda Eze for 3 days!
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteYou know right? Even those that come here to form intellectuals are actually dumb fcuks who cook up disjointed nonsense to feel good about themselves then turn themselves to mini-gods.
DeleteLol. Why?
DeleteVery funny..
DeleteThose in the 'know'should please come and expatiate..
This wasn't the case in Jonathan's time. Why is this any different. This APC Govt is an Anti Christ Govt!A circle of evil people!!!
DeleteDidn't hear of dat either
ReplyDeleteReally! So they want to discharge that man? I can see this country don't want anything good. SMH.
ReplyDeleteThey even vote against restructuring!!...
ReplyDeleteAll these people are jokers!!...
As for fake pastor Osibanjo,I don't even want him!!...
Na aboki people get naija nah...
Biafra must come to pass!!...
Stella the amendment from my understanding does not preclude him. It states that any vice president who had completed a tenure of a sitting president and contested a fresh four years mandate shall not be eligible to run for a second term of office. The present vice president is not completing the tenure of Buhari. My greatest annoyance is the 35% affirmative action for women both at the federal and state level that did not sail through. so painful a thing for NASS to do.
ReplyDeleteStella to my own knowledge he can contest in 2019 oo, just that he can only use one term, in fact if Buhari comes back and take over the amendment will not affect him anymore. na Jonathan no go fit contest again
ReplyDeleteYeah, they did it cos of goodluck Jonathan. They should have also included if your papa or relation done rule before cos they don't lead in Nigeria you don't contest.
DeleteAnd for the new age requirement for contesting election, make una no happy much cos their children are abroad schooling and those who are done are there to take over And the circle continues. God help and bless Nigeria
Please why would Jonathan want to rule again..who will even vote for him sef?
DeleteNigerians are wiser now..
Maybe you should bring the part that states why he can't be eligible to run in 2019.. That way we can have something to say. That's the only way we can discuss it without going off point.
ReplyDeleteAnd you Say this country is not a very "fine" country?. If I hear
ReplyDeleteAnon 13:09... And you have to mention me 😢
DeleteWhat was amended?
ReplyDeleteHas the Nigerian press been bought over such that they did not report that any amendment was going on?
Wow..This Saraki is up to no good at all..
ReplyDeleteThe amendment states that a vp that completes d tenure of a president cant run second term if he eventually becomes a president after winning a first election.
ReplyDeleteIf osibanjo for instance completes buharis tenure as a result of anything he would be able to contest 2019 but not for a second term in 2023
You are right. I think they don't want anyone in power for more than 8 years . If a vp completes a left over term and wins 2 tems, it will be more than 8 years.
DeleteThey should amend and barn anyone above 60 yrs not to contest please
ReplyDeleteThey are ammending it to suit their old age, wont be shocked if Obasanjo comes back @95.shebi it's why they don't want young bright bloods to rise?see how old man sickness dey worry baba,he's too old for Christsake,I get weak whenever I see him on tv!!!
