If you know you can't wash your clothes, then take it to the laundry
ReplyDeleteA woman should not wash a man's cloth nor iron a man's cloth
My dad has never given my mum clothes to wash... He rather wash his cloths by himself or he takes them to dry cleaners
All these wahala should be discussed in courtship
@Anonymous Orubebe
Exactly galore
DeleteIsn't the man human? Every human being must be able to wash their own cloths..Except for Kids..
DeleteGrowing up my dad won't let my mum wash his cloth, up until 2015 sef dad does his washing. When i get married we will see how it goes.
DeleteHonestly... My dad does his laundry himself... I tire for the kind of men we have this days
DeleteAll of you are claiming super woman now!
DeleteSo body agrees on washing Lee boo 'S clothes.....see them!
I really pity all the men who are striving hard to find a soulmate here on Sdk blog, all the guys participating in SnM with a genuine reason to marry one of these ladies, I say receive sense!
DeleteLadies here are the most confused set of people, the same ladies will say a man is responsible to provide for his family..okay, accepted. Now you are saying the same man should wash his clothes, some of them here will tell you strongly that the same man is meant to assist in the kitchen. So all you bring to the table is your public pussy? A pussy I can get in Asaba as low as #500 for short time?? Amadioha fall on you!
Yimnu. You all be there deceiving yourself. Most of you that come here to form wash gutter for your boyfriend house.
DeleteGalore aka anonymous orubebe did all these words came out from the bottom of your heart and you typed it with your fingers???
DeleteCinnamon Apple and you supported her?
ORIAKU you better not think of letting your husband wash his clothes unless you want to stop answering ORIAKU and take up the name ONYE INYE AKA... Lol
It's very wrong for a married man to wash only his clothes. Not my husband. Who will wash my own nah???... thank God my husband understands. My sweet bae
DeleteAnon 13.10
DeleteWaa gbayi jare..
I don't know the duties of the wife den ooooo..
@Anonymous
DeleteYou hit the nail by the head. One of the problems with relationships and homes today is competition.
Some matters are not to show up on negotiation desk at all
So is this one talk? Washing his clothes as a husband would reduce the length of his dick abi, mtcheeewww.
ReplyDeleteEven with the wahing machine, it arises. My hiusband then BFf used to load d machine with our clothes then, coos I had a very busy job. But now, he has not touched that machine since I was let off by my company, unless I ask him to. Whhy? Cos I don't let him. I know the man I married. He works hard and. I don't work at all, so why should he bother?. I know when I start working i'll probably continue . Why? Cos I woulda done it for too long by then. Guess what? I'm not gonna complain, I'll ask him nicely when I need help. Cos I know the man I married. Other Men however believe it's a woman's duty. Know the man u married, then try and reach a common ground. Remember, u can only change a man so much from what he has always known. If u saw him that way nd married him, don't try to change him too much. Focus on ur kids and change them. My hubby doesn't cook. I persuade (not nag), cos my sons cook. No marriage Is perfect. Always find d common ground.
DeleteThat's how y'all serially single fools sounds on social media, online gladiators! It is when you marry that you'll realize that pressing toothpaste from the middle is enough to cause a fight
DeleteAs for me, I wash my husband's clothes! If I don't wash it who will do it? It doesn't remove anything from me.
DeleteSerially single fools on this blog! Choi! Choi! Choi! Anony 13:31 you savage, you hangry, choi!
DeleteSo is this one talk? Washing his clothes as a husband would reduce the length of his dick abi, mtcheeewww.

DeleteFunke funke 😂
DeleteWith all the duties I have to do, I will add washing a full grown man's clothes to it, natives and jeans? The woman will clean; cook, go to the market, take care of the kids??? Kuku kill her now cuz it is a sin to be a woman.
DeleteA man should either wash his clothes, give to the laundry or pay some one to come wash them every weekend.
I can't remember the last time I washed clothes. Everything goes to the washing machine.
Adonbelivit..
DeleteIphie Dearie I follow dey shout
Miss Ess apostle anusigo ya tinye Jara... Lol
So if am sick or very busy,he can wash his clothes... I should die because am married..
ReplyDeleteMy Dad does his washing and even our own when we were little..
But my husband can not wash his clothes.. He just give it to dry cleaner
See your life, be there forming. You are on your way out already.

Anonymous howfa
Says who? What a very backward thinking, if there's no watching machine, then the clothes goes to dry cleaners
ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
Hmmm... I can't believe you typed this.
DeleteMy guy has washing machine, though he doesn't like washing his clothes with them, the dry cleaners pick up his office wears and he pays someone to wash his jeans and his tshirts. Then the cleaner handles the maintenance of the house. I hate washing personally so I pack my clothes to his house during the weekend and load them in the machine.even when I was in school, I pay someone to wash my clothes. I never wash my cloth finish, n.a. man own I go come wash. But I looooove cooking so I only handle that and the cleaner washes the dishes.
DeleteChike how? What's bad with what I wrote?
Delete*Larry was here*
Some men wash their clothes themselves, some wear n dump it, d woman washes it, without complain nor quarrel, it's not an issue.
ReplyDeleteIt is an issue, men must strive to make there Wife look younger and reducing domestic chores is one of the way to prolong her life span nd also make her look younger
DeleteBrandedme so men should make their wives look younger and make themselves look older by reducing their wives chores and increasing their own chores, okwa ya? So if he die of stress the wife will be bringing small small boys gana ala ya otu abi? It will not work for you, inugo? ... Lol
DeleteHahahahahahaha at Chike!..
DeleteLmao..
Where is my princess Lovemejeje?...
@chike help me ask dem oooo awon feminist 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteYou guys are funny sha...Branded me your head dey there!
DeleteWhy should a married man wash his cloths?...
ReplyDeleteWell, except a good for nothing broke ass that bring only prick to the table!...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😆😅😆😅😆😅
DeleteFuck boy things kenan!
What if u are sick or very busy and u don't have a maid??!
DeleteGod bless you Queen and Boss.
DeleteMost female BVs always amaze me.
The same people that said a man will wash plate in his in-law's place are the same people saying a man should wash his clothes.
My question is, ladies what exactly is your work in your husband's house?
For the fact that I hate you, you say the truth sometimes.
DeleteEverybody are talking about their dad 😊😊 my dear do your dad cook? My dad can cook for Africa till date! Whenever the doctors declare my mum pregnant my dad takes over the kitchen till she put to birth! He never allowed any help to step into the kitchen not even wen my mum is pregnant! He do the cooking till after six months of giving birth. But I never saw him wash his clothes! I will never allow my husband to do such.
Delete.. He won't even go there too.....
Sandy yo!,,.
DeleteIma nno!...
Sharon Aminu, you get a help for that period...
Yes o the Queen. A wife shld wash the husband's clothes Abeg. Except she is the very busy type.
DeleteTo me it depends on whether the wife is willing to wash her husbands clothes or not. Personally it's not something I see myself doing.
ReplyDeleteI will wash my husbands clothes if i have to. Is he not looking after me?
DeleteDon't start what you can't finish. My take is,find a balance. It shouldn't be a do or die affair.most couples now give their clothes to washermen.but there's nothing bad if both cooperate and help each other once a while.
ReplyDeleteAs for me,washing machine is the ultimate.
With the way my husband treats me it will be a sin against God and humanity to let him wash his clothes.
ReplyDeleteThe man treats me like a queen. Marriage is sweet abeg
Enjoy jare!
DeleteDon't mind all this foolish girls here forming super human
God bless you, I just wonder how some ladies think.
DeleteJulie Sikiru is that you.You must wash Bayo's clothes ooo cos you and your family just dey chop for him head
DeleteSo after going out to hustle for the day,my guy will come back and wash his cloths?...
ReplyDeleteFor what nah?..
No REAL man should do house chores abeg!...
Their duty is to provide for the home while it's the wife's duty to do all chores!!...
That is if d wife is not working, for a career woman, it will be too much to work, wash nd care for d house
DeleteHe can also assist with the chores if he wants to. I don't see any wrong in that.
DeleteGod will bless you abundantly Queen and Boss aka CHIEF, oke mmuo na eti onwe, agu nwanyi, ijele Nwanyi, ikara aka, Iga adi nwanyi oma 🙌🙌🙌🙌
DeleteThe wife should get someone that will doing that for her at Brandedme...
DeleteCyndy Noo!!,.
It's an abomination where I come from...
I have always known queen is a full time housewife, better go and get something doing in order to be equipped for eventualities.
DeleteREAL men have no qualms doing house chores, becos it takes nothing from them or their masculinity. A man must not do chores, but only a humble man can, most especially when it is necessary. Hmmm enough said.
DeleteTo me, Its not right for a married man to wash his clothes sha. I might be wrong though but I see any guy that does that as a fuck boy. His wife should be the one to do it or better still, get somebody that will always come to take care of that aspect for a token if theres no machine like you stated. Me cant/wont wash either when I never wash my own with my bare hands.
ReplyDelete@Sanyo.. His wife should wash it keh?
DeleteUna wan kill woman
The husband go fuck her for morning noon day and night
The woman go still go market go buy food stuffs
She go still come back come cook
She go wash plate
She go wash pikin cloth
Only one woman
Abeg, make the man take him cloth go dey cleaner if him no fit wash am
@Anonymous Orubebe
I do my husband washing but when am sick...hell no
DeleteSandy do you know that some women also work 9-5jobs? Then need to care for kids and cook as well?I think there should be a balance.
Delete😘😘😘😘😘
DeleteYou are making sense but cant you write without this fuck boy this and that? If we check properly now you don't even have a steady boyfriend.
DeleteCrying every night to god for husband, coming online to form independent woman.. Musheshe
You are not wrong dear. God bless you.
DeleteHahahahahaha make una see me see sharon aminu d village geh forming feminist @hell no
DeleteDey there make paent dey wear u.Na all dis grandma gwegz wey full dis blog na dem u wan follow issorait
It depends on the individual,my husband can cook give me everything I ask but he hates to wash and clean, I don't mind I was his cloths for him and take the ones I deem fit to be taken to the laundry, my dad never washed his cloth for a day we always wash for him, so I see no reason why I shouldn't wash for my husband.
ReplyDeleteIt actually depends on the situation. When I just got married and pregnant with my first child , there was a particular period the washer man did not come for a period of about 2 weeks. It was a Sunday and my husband needed cloths for the next week. I was heavily pregnant. He washed his cloths and mine that weekend and we gisted away while he was at it.
ReplyDeleteTill date that experience is still one of the beautiful marriage experiences I cherished the most. I had limited maternity gowns and they where all dirty. Now in that situation would I say it's wrong for a married man to wash ? However if it becomes a neccessity like all the time then it's wrong.
In my opinion though if you can afford it please do yourself a favour and take cloths to laundry, or get a washer man/woman or get your house help to wash. I personally do not use washing machine. It's just there for decoration.
Ironically this things are normal abroad. Nigerians abroad will do this stuffs but in Nigeria will say God forbid.
Which Nigerians abroad do these things? When every house has washing machine. The life here won't even permit such nonsense. Is it during winter you will be washing clothes or when you have gone to work for 12hours and probably doing extra hours you will get home to start washing clothes.
DeleteNobody waits up on anyone here, it is DIY, no time.
Annon you don't do it does not mean others don't. I was once on vac in Swansea and where we stayed the man of the house very elderly man oh cooked his food, washed his cloths and vaccumed the house while the wife was at work. He also got his own job not like his jobless but he closes early before the wife cause she's a nurse and does shift . I offered to help the man refused. Infact he told me that this things are normal that even when the kids are around they all wash indivudually. His kids are all well to do not like his one poor man. I was amazed! I came home and gisted my husband he was also amazed. Not everyone believes in washing machine even me with all my education I don't use washing machines.
DeleteIn my opinion sef if we want to dissect this matter well a man should provide a means to ensure all cloths are properly washed and ironed although I don't support him doing it. But please that should not be a woman's problem. Washing cloths and cars fall under the same category and it's a man's responsibility to ensure that they are done by providing someone to do it. How many women this days are actually full house wife's? Everyone is busy hustling for a better future. Who as time to be washing cloths in 2017. The only thing I ensure no one does for me is cook for my husband. I do that myself no matter how busy I get.
@ mamaz, so even during winter this man handwashes all the clothes in the house because he doesn't believe in washing machine?? What a wawu!!
DeleteIts no big deal. Thank God for washers and dryers. We both do laundry. Its been ages since i handwashed. I dont think i can handwash anymore.
ReplyDeleteMarried man that can pay for HELP is that one a man? Hissss
ReplyDeleteAnyone can wash the clothes but the wife ought to make it her duty to wash her husband's clothes.
ReplyDeleteI mean he goes out to provide for the family, ensures everything is provided for, she adding his clothes to hers and that of the kids when washing isn't bad abeg. Help him look good to go out and hustle. MO!
If the wife works nko?so she should come back and wash too.she should go to the market, cook, carry pikin and still wash.thank you.
DeleteCorrect.
DeleteHelp him wash strong jeans and agbada complete abi? U try
DeleteGod bless your home. Not like those idiots up there that never even have a steady relationship forming ' I can't wash' meanwhile them dey wash boxers for the guys wey dey fuck them.
DeleteThis Stella blog just filled with liars, that's why most of them can't show their face at the get together party.
13:21 you are so bitter. And you being so bitter, how do you expect to get a sweet wife eehhh. There are a lot of great peeps who are BVs. Unfortunately you don't know them.😝
DeleteMy hubby doesn't allow me or anyone wash or iron his clothes he does his laundry himself. He doesn't even believe washing machine washes properly
ReplyDelete#All that we are is the result of what we have thought: it is founded on our thoughts and made up of our thoughts*
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha, is the wife a slave or what?
ReplyDeleteIn my house, there's no rule to house chores. I do it mostly cos I'm home. My husband does more when he is on leave or weekends.
That's why I love washing machines. Just load it up. Anyone can in the house. That write-up shows serious slave and backward mentality.
God bless men like mine that see write-ups and shake their heads.
My husband washes his clothes by himself with the use of a washing machine but would leave the inner wears for me to wash...wonder why he leaves the underwears for me to wash.A woman who is a full time housewife has to be washing her husband's clothes especially if he is a very busy man.
ReplyDeleteI love washing but I can't start what I won't finish.
ReplyDeleteIf he can't afford a washing machine, he should be able to pay someone to come and wash them or wash it himself.
Nothing bad in a man washing his clothes.
You love washing?
Delete🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️ I HATE washing,But like other things I hate,If I have to do it, Amma do it without blinking.
I'm good in other things though😂😂😂 Very good.
I hate washing clothes with passion but other chores, I'm good to go. I wash my clothes late at night or early in the morning before going out every 2days because I can't wash it once it's piled up, washing clothes is my weak point
Delete*Larry was here*
Thanks goodness, Iphie darling! My buttercup, you would have broken my heart if I read something different. Lol! Honey, you know what I find fascinating, though? Where are the ladies who write in, complaining about how good they are and how they bend over backwards, literally and figuratively, trying to please some dude who still takes their love for granted?
DeleteWhere are the sweethearts whom we read all the "domesticated" adjectives they use in describing themselves, just for us to know that in spite of being a good girl and great wife material, they don't have a man in their lives and they are wondering if they are cursed or something? Where are the girls who wash, cook, clean and still bend "it" low and spread "it" wide just to impress a BOYFRIEND or be upgraded from side chic to main squeeze? Ladies who go into active combative competition with the other ladies in a man's life, especially if he is rich, to be the "wife elect"? Can it be they become complacent after they've "won" the coveted tile of "MRS" or are we reading some half truths embellished with unintelligent lies?
Reading some comments here, inspired doubt as to the blog I was on. Had to cross-check to be sure this was indeed SDK blog because some comments were quite unfamiliar, the sudden burst of "girl power!" is confusing. If we have such "opinionated", no-nonsense ladies dominating the blog now, why is about 85% of chronicles bordered on ladies being treated badly and disrespected by men? Especially the ones who document such inhuman and abusive treatment, yet they conclude with "please do you think I should leave him or am I overreacting?" Whereas it now seems like it's their way or the highway.
Oh well! Just needed to ventilate my confusion. Don't bother replying, my love, I hardly ever come back to a post I've left a comment or several comments on. This is actually meant to be rhetorical and I'll rather do so beneath a familiar territory where misconstruction is highly unlikely. I hope my angels are golden, as usual? Kiss kiss.
#e-bearhugsandkisses.
Aaawwww. Ronalda you should actually come back to posts you know.
DeleteI really really miss you here♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hahahahha@ Break your heart.
If I break your heart, I promise to un-break it.
*Fingers crossed* Hope You come back and read my response.
And the angels are doing so fine,I'm super proud of myself😀
Kiss Kiss
Anyway I can't let my husband wash his clothes, he would bring them out, i'll just take over and he'll be all smiles, d kids are normally in boarding school and as a jobless HW, I do it, in return he worships me, his mumu button is by 'pampering'once I treat him like a baby, if I say jump, he'll say 'how high'? So I know what works for me, if your man I not appreciative of you, don't kill yourself.
ReplyDeleteKeep doing what works for you and you home!
DeleteA smart wife knows her hubby's mumu button, hehehehehe.
DeleteWell,if I was married, I can't sitdown, fold legs and watch my 'good' husband wash his clothes when he's supposed to gather stamina to pound me like fufu.
ReplyDelete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteLol
DeleteLmao
Blackberry I like your way...
Ije uwa bu nke na akpa onye oyoba Chukwu.
You're never serious, lol.
DeleteBravo.
Why should we even be arguing about washing anything, when there's washing machine? Have I finished washing my own clothes? Those heavy agbada can like to go drycleaners. I would wash under garments, though. Abeg husband and wife should agree to what works for them. Nothing is right or wrong. But if na me alone the clothes go pile till tommorow 😂😂
ReplyDeleteMy Chike please hope you have installed that washing machine? I can't shout.
Hahahahaha...
DeleteActually,I only use washing machine to wash my children's cloths, towels, gym cloths and bed sheets...
I don't use that shit to wash my cloths biko...
Ugegbe oyibo m I have. I don't want washing of cloth to be stressful for you, inugo?
DeleteBiko don't worry about washing your pants with washing machine, you know your pant is my handkerchief and I know how handle it, inugo? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao
Lol @ her pants being your handkerchief!
DeleteOkay my darling ugebe 😘🤣
DeleteEwoooooooooooooooo, her pant na your hanky, lmao, Una no go kee person.
DeleteMy parents never had washing machine but, my dad always took his clothes to the dry cleaner.
ReplyDeleteMy mum only sometimes washed my dad undies. After I went to live with my parents, I took over from my mum.
I washed my dad's undies and his numerous handkerchiefs.
I'm privileged to be married to a man who has provided me with washing machine and even a drying machine.
I think it's the duty of a wife to make sure her husband's clothes are cleaned and ironed but, that doesn't mean the husband shouldn't render some assistance if the wife is too occupied or is indisposed
Let everyone do what works for them.
Did you add ironing to the equation? Iron !!! When I wear my clothes, you will wonder if iron touched it so I should sit iron my husband's clothes??? Lol. He won't even let me touch them.
Delete@anonymous, I loved to iron clothes. Growing up with my uncles who loved their sleeves and their pants well ironed, I learned alot from them.
DeleteI iron my clothes, my son's and my husband's along with the bedsheets.... It's no big deal to me because I love doing it.
I can't be caught wearing a rumpled clothe when I have iron at home, I do ironing for fun.
Lol @ mrs Romas.
DeleteNo matter how much I iron, the cloth will be looking rumpled. I will rather wash and someone else irons. Ironing is never my thing. If you want me to iron , just kill me abeg. The hardest of all chores for me.
Stella, my husband is very lazy when it comes to washing his clothes, so I do d laundry for him..though we have a washing machine but he doesn't like using it to wash his clothes.it all started even before we got married and its OK by me.
ReplyDeleteMarried man will:
ReplyDeleteHustle and pay his family bills.
Wash his clothes.
Cook.
Do other house chores.
Wash plate in his in-law's house.
Laa his wife otu for 3 hours straight and go 3-5 rounds.
What a wawuuuuu
Women/ladies what exactly is your work in your husband's house? Pet wife or what?
No wonder husbands age and die quick more than their wives.
I fear who no fear some of you female BVs.
Ahn Ahn.... Don't worry nau. It's okay we would get washing machine. Calm down *rubs back*
DeleteI will not lie, my husband don't wash his clothes by himself, I might just sock things as little as singlet or so and if maybe he's the first to take a shower he wash and sUn it , anything pass that the dry cleaners takes over! ! My dad didn't do anything as such because during their time there was nothing like washing machine but my mum had countless of house helps then, we grew up with house help in the house. Though now there's washing machine in the house but I don't use it for all clothes, my house help do the washing why "washerman" takes care of the suit and native! I can't even seat and watch my husband washing the clothes nai😳😳😳😳
ReplyDeleteI hear some people say I have a washing machine but I don't use so my question is why did you buy it.
DeleteAs long as you have good machine, you are good to go. My washing machine has delicate wash, normal wash etc so why will I be washing with my hands?
Make I type again
ReplyDeleteI remember the day wen my mum just come back from work, exact time my dad came in as well... .infact Dem both enter house.. .na so as Dem land for house.. .dem just dey parlour, dem never enter room sef say make Dem change cloth oo.. ...na so my dad just say "eeh eeh, what are we eating, I am hungry oo, there should be something on fire now or even almost cooked
Na so my mum look my dad like? REALLY? I just enter house.. .you just enter house.... How you wan make that magic happen? .....lol.. Na so my dad just dey smile
Oh... How I miss my childhood days
God bless my parents
@Anonymous Orubebe
This issue can be settled with a washing machine. Buy one and so it makes washing easy for the wife to do for him...it's no big deal to wash for anyone with washing machine and you can give his suits and natives that needs starching to the wash man.
ReplyDeleteFor me there are some clothes I do not wash with machine sha
DeleteI always saw my dad washing his own clothes...but mehn one thing I know is dat my husband won't come back from d days struggle and wash his clothes...either to dry cleaners or I wash them...For Godsake d man will be tired for d day except he's broke
ReplyDeleteSo if I no wash my husband clothes na side chick go wash am...this one na okrika talk
ReplyDeleteTo each his own. My wife shouldn't touch my clothes. I don't trust anyone with my clothes.
ReplyDeletewell only a lazy jobless man will be doing his laundry. imagine Dangote doing his laundry? how does it even look like in your head? the man deosnt even have enough time to gbensh properly na time to wash clothes him go get? a wife should be able to do the laundry or better still take to the dry cleaners. i cant let my man who brings in millions to our bank account do any house chores oooh.
ReplyDeleteYou ain't right, you haven't met people. It ain't about being jobless or rich.
DeleteThere's no law or cultural undertone to this one...i actually think it she be both ways, whoever is washing should just wash the whole clothes. Better yet, why doesn't Madam take all clothes to the laundry place and when it's ready, collect money from Oga & pay for the service.
ReplyDeleteWhen did wives become Laundress?
ReplyDeleteAny married man that can't do his washing should get a laundry services or hire a help...
I'm married and I can never wash his clothes. I can't think of scrubbing his dirty collars
I really don't understand why this should even be a problem in some average homes...
ReplyDeleteThis man was washing his cloths before he got married... I don't see anything wrong if he continues.
Lets drop drycleaners and washing machines for a sec.
For homes where the man and woman works and they can't afford the above mentioned👆 Weekends should be dedicated to washing up.
If that strong man washes cloths while missus cooks and tends to the kids... You have a happy family with less burdens and grudges..
These little chores even help in bonding especially for young familes.
Then for homes where the woman is at home and the man goes out to hustle... A clean laundry for Oga will not be a bad idea at all.
It is all about understanding.
Growing up,My Dad washed his cloths himself on Saturdays while Momsie throws in a gist or two with Soup or something cooking up.
I'm sure if my Momma was not working, she would have HELPED him do his.
Everything depends on understanding and availability of the right tools to make life easier.
Do not try to emulate Mama Nkechi that has a washing machine installed and decide to watch Zee world all day while your Good Man comes home to do his Laundry after a hard day's work.
Mr, do not watch Mr Femi burden his good wife daily and decide to make your wife wash your cloths when you can help or afford a washing machine/Laundry services.
TO EACH,HIS OWN!
Na wa out African men , I'm sure this might have been the case in my home if we didn't have machine and dry cleaners . Men change o Stell I remember back in Uni when I was dating my boo and I was ill he washed my underwears sef . Fast forward to marriage he can't even load machine but like he says he is willing to pay for his comfort so I no fight again. We have help and we dryclean his office wears everyone is happy
ReplyDeleteDers nothing bad if a man wah his own cloth. Though i wash for hubby.
ReplyDeleteMy father has always washed clothes with my mum!...and this is a man who owns a company with people doing "yes sir, yes sir". Sometimes, he washes, she hangs or vice versa. He has always been a hands on man, sweeping, cooking etc. It was my dad who came for "omuguo" 🤣🤣🤣 cus mum was with the big sis. His mom raised him well and i intend to raise my sons the same. As he has grown older, we have to cajole him before he agrees to have the helps
ReplyDeletewash 🤣🤣🤣
In my home, the Oga does the laundry and I'll only do them if he's away. We live in a part of the world where you HAVE to be each other's helper. Marriage is not a slave/master affair. It is two people who loved each other enough to want to live and grow together. The woman shouldn't be made to cook, clean, wash, take care of kids, take care of husband and then at night, he expects her to be strong or in the mood for jiggy jiggy, haba!
Different strokes for different folks I guess!
Gbammm
DeleteThank you jare. So much work to be done in the house and I will add washing my husband's clothes ??
DeleteFor a long time, I didn't even bother to learn how to operate our washing machine. My husband does our laundry, of course with a washing machine. He is no brokeass, he is an IT specialist !!!
Both of us work, I get back from work and am trying to fix dinner and tend to the kids, their homework is there among other things.
Let everyone do what works for them abeg.
My husband does our laundry 80@% of the time.
God bless you tetrina and iphie dearie for these write ups. You two nailed it,our men have turned our women to slaves all in the name of marriage. Both of you leave the house very early in the morning(waking up as early as 4:30 or 5:00am) and come back in the evening tired and exhausted, the woman enters the kitchen straight to prepare the meals at the same time attending to the kids, sometimes, e.g some even forget to remove their wears all in the name of making the meals fast, meanwhile husband must have bathed and relax on the couch tuning the TV and pressing phones while the wife will be involved with multi tasks thinking how to arrange and cook what the kids will take to school the next day. Weekend, when the woman is suppose to rest, she brings out all the kids clothes, hers and husband out to wash? That woman no go last I swear😁😂😂😂 unless you have help(s).
DeleteThe conditions that will make me wash Husband's clothes are
.... if I have a help or someone living with me.
....If I am a full housewife.
I will not even allow him bath himself😂😃😄😅😆😁
I luv your dad. He is a real man.
DeleteAlmost all the chicks here are married. Make I siddon look na as I never enter. When the time comes I go know whether he washes his clothes himself or not.
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong in washing my man's clothes. I was taught household chores is mainly for the woman, except on rear occasions when the man wants to help out
ReplyDeleteThis is not a one-size-fit-all answer..Whatever rocks your boat..I have a cousin that washes his own clothes because he believes his hands, has enough chores already especially washing kids clothes..There is nothing wrong if he washes his clothes or me washing his clothes..
ReplyDeleteOh Stella please don't bring this topic again. Alot of bvs are very one sided and gender biased when it comes to this particular topic, not long ago there was a similar topic like this when Stella asked if it was okay for the man to wash his wife's undies all the female bvs answered yess but today they are saying no cause the gender has now changed. You all should know that what works for your mother can't work for you unless you want to continue signing divorce papers.there will never be another man like your father so stop the comparison and wash your husband clothes.
ReplyDelete👍
DeleteStella after few weeks please bring back this same topic but this time let it be the case of the man washing his wife's clothes then you will know how gender biased these your female bvs are.
ReplyDelete👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏 them full this blog😂😂😂😂
DeleteDo what works for you....
ReplyDeleteIf your husband doesn't bother to appreciate your efforts at home,
Please don't overstress yourself. .
Do the one you can.
When you can.
No stress, no strife.
My husband gives most of his clothes for laundry but others he puts them in the washing machine himself to wash them. I can only help him dry them so each to his own. He has never imposed me washing his clothes and since we got married have never washed his clothes.
ReplyDeleteHerein lies one of the reasons marriages these days have the shelf life of puff pastries. Using parents as yardsticks. "My father never did 'xyz' to my mum, so my husband shouldn't do 'xyz' to me." True, when you have a great role model as a parent, it's only natural to measure your significant other with what you saw and experienced growing up. However, instead of marrying a man who you expect to treat you the way your dad treats/treated your mum, perhaps, you should hold out and WAIT till you find a man who has the qualities you desire.
ReplyDeleteIt will be foolhardy to rush into marriage, the way some ladies do now, then you expect him to treat you the way your dad treats/treated your mum. Or you keep dating a guy you know isn't acting right by your standards, but you go ahead to marry him, thinking you will change him into the man you want him to be. Another salient point most ladies overlook is, can you act like your mum? Can you be submissive and enduring as your mum is/was? Are you aware that it's possible your father adores your mum because of the way she treats/treated him like a king? You can't come with all these modern day anger and resentment for men most "new generation" ladies have and expect your "new generation" husband to give you the old school love and devotion. Sorry, my sweets, it doesn't work that way.
If you already perceive marriage as an oppressive union or you keep wondering why a man can't do his laundry himself, you should know it's either you married the wrong guy or your perception about what marriage is askew. In marriage, a wife must be under her husband's authority and submit to him. This is why the importance of marrying the right person can NEVER be overemphasised! If you marry a man who adores you like the Queen you are, doing his laundry will even give you joy because as ladies, it's in our nature to nurture. You will take care of him and cater to his needs. Submission will come naturally and effortlessly.
I grew up seeing my dad dote on and adore my mum like that was his reason for existing. Naturally, I made that the standard for the man I would marry. Once a guy falls short of my expectations, no dice. I didn't bother with trying to "manage" or mould him to my taste. I knew what I was looking for and I can't thank God enough for bringing the man of my dreams, my way 15 years ago. True, it was "electric" at first sight for both of us. The attraction was massive! but I fell in love with him because of his amazing qualities.
Wait for the right man and don't try to force the wrong man to act right. We are blessed to have laundry machines and domestic staff but, in spite of my hectic schedule, I handle my man's underwears personally, I see it as my duty. I load them in the machine myself, I iron, fold and return them to his closet myself. If both parties truly understand what marriage entails, we wouldn't even be having this argument because the wife already knows her duties, same as the husband.
Don't force the wrong man to act right ooooh. Leave him like that cos he might be someone's prayer.
DeleteOooh.... like the day my chike walked into my life.... my ugebe 😍

DeleteWe don't havea maid or washing machine so I only wash his singlets though not all the time. He washes his shirt and trousers but i sometimes help. I have two small children and washing their clothes everyday is enough work.
ReplyDeleteThere shouldn't be any law on who washes or not.
Men pls assist your wives so they don't age before time.
Told hubby that if he fires the washerman he washes his clothes himself. I ain't no washerwoman!!!
ReplyDeleteHell yes especiallly if I'm working and contributing to the house. If not pay a bloody washerman
ReplyDeleteWell.. I beg to differ. There's nothing wrong if a guy washes his lady's clothes. I for one, do not see it as a 'designated' chore.. I do most of the laundries with the washing machine and hand wash the delicate ones and he in turn hand washes our clothes whenever he feels like it especially if they re in sight. He loves to gift me with clothes and never wears a brand new clothing item unless they're washed and ironed properly. Me I dey only see my new clothes when them dey wet cos he must wash them o, plus he never allows me iron my clothes when he's around. So for me, it's just about UNDERDTANDING simple!
ReplyDeleteThis is really not a big deal biko, it's either when I'm washing my clothes, I will wash the one I can wash out of his or when he's washing he will help me too as long as it isn't one sided. Nobody should be enslaved all in the name of marriage .in fact there shouldn't be a formula for it.
ReplyDeleteThe sooner some African men realize they didn't marry a glorified house help, the better for them.
You should not come and kill somebody's daughter all in the name of marriage . Besides, these days, women also 'pick' bills at home so why shouldn't men 'pick' their own clothes.
Well I know some decent men won't want to stress their wives, so they do their laundry alone or they work hard enough to afford a washing machine like their mates. Thank God for Technology .
I sha know that if a woman marries a man with a poverty stricken mentality, her own 'haf' finished for life.
If a man is not a dirty type, washing his clothes and keeping his house clean shouldn't be a problem. It's only a dirty and a lazy man will complain about that. Such a dirty man of course is always dirty even when single and can't still keep neat even when a wife is there.
ReplyDeletechim_oma a.k.a. Miss Kapusu
Correct! 👌
DeleteSorry I can't wash hubby's clothes and that doesn't kill my marriage.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot wash my clothes but want a trip to Dubai? Most you will wash your enemy clothes not to talk of your husband. As for me, I work really hard and I only wash my clothe once a year just to refresh my memory how the washing machine works. My wife does all the magic. The only woman that gets my dick up. Don't wash o, Kontinue.
ReplyDeleteI am a guy. You girls with so much I cannot wash bla bla. When did washing clothes become a problem? I do not expect my wife to wash my clothes. 80% of my clothes are for dry cleaners. 20% washing machine. If that is too difficult for a lady to wash her husband clothes once a week like mine, then you do not deserve to be pampered. If my memory serves me right, I work really hard and I have never seen my wife cleaned our house because I do the cleaning passionately and I never complained for once because that is not her strength. We don't have a maid. In fact, I stopped the weekly cleaners because they could not do a better job than me.
ReplyDeleteI see part of the reasons why chronicles are plenty.
