In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday, the group noted that Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has the penchant for being “uncouth, rude and crude” in public discourse. The statement was signed by Mr Seun Bobade, national leader of the group.
It said that the tweet credited to Fani-Kayode when he was reacting to comments made by Mohammed, during a television programme, “is unbecoming of a man who is supposed to be a father figure to all youths.” “We found Mr Fani-Kayode’s tweet extremely distasteful, very disgusting and unbecoming of a man who supposedly had good education.
“How can Mr Fani-Kayode censure the young ones, including his own children, if they become uncouth, rude and crude in public discourse when he himself has now made such distasteful disposition his trade mark,” the statement said. The group noted that while it was inevitable that people in opposing camps in politics would disagree from time to time, such disagreement should not be “licence for anyone to pollute the air with crude and abusive language.
“In recent times, Mr Fani-Kayode, who touts his pedigree at every opportunity, has not lived up to his billing. “If he is not fanning the embers of disunity with very incendiary statements, he is employing very nasty language even against those who are old enough to be his father. “This is not encouraging to the youths and should stop forthwith,” Youth for Change NG said.
The group urged the former minister to stop his penchant for resorting to the use of base and abusive language in public discourse, saying “such behaviour has no place in the Nigeria of our dreams.”

The strongest man in the world, oga Trump is also ""Rude, crude and uncouth". Many politicians world over also tow this line. Politics is not and has never been a decent playground. You find all sorts of people in it. Fani isn't different. Infact, he's even better than Trump. These idle youths should get a vocation.
ReplyDelete@ anonymous 07.07, There's no excuse for his behaviour my friend. Everything Nigerians will find ways to use westerners as doing same. We have different culture here, whereby I see an elder like Fani talking/ writing in such manner then, I truly have problem with it. Atleast, those westerners don't criticise to cause trouble within their country, they do it for change.
DeleteSame Fani was abusing Jonathan until he was brought closer by that government. The only man he respect small is Obj that brought him into limelight. I used to like him then as a young dude but not anymore. I think his ex wives did a very good job by making sure none of his kids are with him. Such a stupid Father. Yes I used the word stupid as he do not deserve any respect from anyone.
Tory!!! So na these one dey bug these people? Anyway, you people should await his reply for all I know FFK is unstoppable and fearless. Kikiki
ReplyDeleteNot that I support his abusive comments but I just want to know, if he doesn't stop, what will they do? Asking this regarding their last paragraph. 😒
ReplyDeleteFFK the internet never forgets, your daughters would change their last name but you have a son now, don't let him suffer for your sins...
ReplyDeleteThis man likes attention sha - negative or positive. He can die if people don't talk about him. He's also an opportunist. He sees opportunities and milks it to his advantage and the public would be following him like mumu. He saw an opportunity in the so-called Biafran cause. He uses all these strategies to gain attention. Wait until he's offered an appointment then you'll hear another tune. I'm bothered by how he's fanning the embers of war and why the security agents are doing nothing. Freedom of speech is allowed but not to the extent he's going .
