There are too many people who can't sit in their homes a whole night without going out! They have made 'active night life' their default! The problem is not how much they earn, but how they manage what they earn. YOU CAN NEVER BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU DON'T HAVE FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE!
One of the closest friends of poverty is BAD HABITS. You see, people aren't born with habits. Habits are acquired and learned!
It doesn't matter how high you earn, success will be counterproductive if you spend more than you receive!
Do you know that 75% of our politicians who looted this country while in office turn broke approximately 10years after leaving office?
Could this be because of their high handedness or the failing system which motivates them to spend alot to win elections?
Until we are able to look beyond selling our votes for money, by choosing credible leaders who have the capability to manage our nations vast resources judiciously, majority of the citizens will continue to live in abject poverty!
We need to constantly remind ourselves that when we receive money from these incompetent politicians to endorse them via our votes, we truncate the possibility of credible leaders emerging as winners.
Africa has suffered so much from lack of competent leadership!
Some years ago, the Zambian Govt. sold their copper mines to a foreign Consortium for $25m because they couldn't manage it. Three months after this foreign consortium began operation, they made $75m profit!
The secret to success is not prayer or religious practises. Else Africa would have been the wealthiest continent. The secret to success is Understanding HOW THINGS WORK!
God has laid down principles. If you follow the principles, you MUST succeed. Being born again and prayerful is an advantage, but that is not all there is to it!
Ghana had their independence same day and year with South Korea. South Koreans from inception are Buddhists. Yet you cannot compare Ghana to South Korea today. China have declared that in the next 10 years, 20% of its citizens will be millionaires in US Dollars. That means about 450 million Chinese will emerge Millionaires!
My friend, we need to break this barrier called poverty. It will be a travesty if we allow our children face the same thing we went through. Success is the result derived from financial discipline, quality decisions and application of principles. Understand how things work!

DeleteLeaders are human beings like you and I who abuse resources meant for citizens, thereby leading to poverty. If he had talked about individuals alone, you would have shifted blames to the Government. Hence He decided to go there too.#MyThoughts. Thank you Amos. You nailed it!
DeleteAnon 11:15, I get your point but I think Mr. Amos addressed it this way because The system in Africa has alot tied to leadership. He talked about the leaders who maladministrate funds leading to abject poverty withing the citizenry. Nigerians have a way of blaming the government for everything.. so it was wise he went there.
DeleteI totally disagree with you Anonymous 11:15! Our leaders are the highest abusers of resources and this article would have been incomplete if Uncle Amos did not address the issue. First he addressed individuals and next he addressed the main one which is the government! Wow, Zambia sha... Africa, God help us!
DeleteThank You Uncle Amos.
👏👏👏 Thank you Amos.
DeleteWell, I get your point. But I also get He's. Bravo.
