You don't keep a son from his father because his father isn't doing what you want. The breakdown of the marriage was caused by both parents and not the innocent child. It's a very naivè move to use accessibility of a child, or the lack thereof, to try to control a man. You'll end up shooting yourself in the foot.

Don't get it twisted, my love, no woman can play the role of "mum" and "dad" perfectly, the way God intended it to be. Shout out to all the single mothers who are raising or have raised kings. The harsh truth is, no matter how amazing, your sons turned out, they could have been more amazing if they had a father figure who helped to raise them. Your disagreements doesn't change the facts.
What I find disturbing is, this is playing out in the public and the temptation to score cheap points by both parents may be too high to resist because both of them want to be seen as the better parent. Unfortunately, this isn't good for the child. I can assure you, a lot would be done differently if nobody was watching. In this case, performance trumps real life and that's super unfortunate. The person she's really hurting is her son.

We were here when the father of the baby says he does not know her new number and where she lives, we were here when he said the only person he gets access to speak with the boy is the nanny which is no more with her. Knowing tontoh as a mad woman you want him to go check up on the boy in school then she shouts kidnap? Does he even know the school? You know if she has told them with stern warning that he should not be allowed to see the boy in school, We are killing the man because of rosy, how are we sure rosy is not innocent. What makes one an unfit mother? Would you go to court and say just because she dressed like a man for Father's Day, she is an unfit mother... Nope.
You need to prove she is abusive to that child and she isnt.
There are women hawking oranges under the rain with their child wrapped on their back exposing the child to cold... that is an unfit parent but people won't call it that.

The major problem with most people is, they underestimate or fail to consider how fragile the human mind can be, especially the mind of a child. Some of these "funny" gestures can leave indelible marks on a child's psyche, invariably summing up to make up the man or woman he or she grows up to become.
ReplyDeleteAs a mum, if you choose to express humour by cross-dressing as "dad", perhaps do that on any day but the "Fathers' day" in your baby's school. A day, obviously, earmarked for fathers to make an appearance in school and bond with their kids. I'm sure not every child in that school had a father who showed up but something tells me not many mums showed up dressed like "dad" either.
Listen, it's hard enough for a child to grow up in a broken home with so much hostility between both parents. It shouldn't be more psychologically confusing for the child, especially a male child, for "mum" to not only assume the role of "dad" figuratively but quite literally as well. No matter how much you despise the father of your child, the best interest of that child must trump whatever reservation or personal bias you harbour towards him. The poor child had no say when you guys were bending it low and spreading it wide. He didn't ask to be born, the sexual union between you and his father induced his conception. Now both of you dragged him into an already ugly and vicious world. The least you can do is make sure he has the best life ever, even if it costs you your pride. Stop usurping the role of his father. Don't even joke about it because your son isn't the one being entertained.
The boy's father is alive and appears willing to be in his son's life if you let him. Of all the gists going around about how "evil" Churchill is, I'm yet to hear about him not being a good father to his son. Don't punish him for not being a good husband to you. You chose him, no? Every son needs his father or a father figure. It doesn't make you superwoman to play both the role of "mum" and "dad". Take a second look at the real person you're hurting...your son. Churchill can get some other chic knocked up and have another son or other sons but your son can NEVER have another biological father and you've made it so by the decisions you made. It's time to start making better decisions in the best interest of your son. When it comes to children, some "jokes" should be left at bay.
