I have a 3wks old Daughter wjo weighs 2.7kg.it's been breast milk since she was born, cos i was thinking of doing exclusive. But now I dnt think I want to anymore cos it feels like she's not growing just the way I want... I love chubby kids alot. Should I start giving her milk? If yes, which affordable one is better for her? Or shld I continue with just breast milk? If yes, how long will it take for her to be chubby?
she's been having severe nappy rash, I tried sudocream but stopped wen it wasn't really helping... I only use powder now. What can I use to stop the rash?

DeleteNew mum: are you making enough milk? What does your baby weigh now? They usually loose a bit in the first week and then gain it back. You can supplement with formula but the more baby sucks the more milk you would make. Make sure you take lots of fluid and eat well too. For the rash sudocream usually works Make sure you change her diaper frequently.
DeleteAnonymous new mom pls stop using powder for your baby, it wii give her rash. Henceforth, use ori ( shea butter) for her, you can add coconut oil to the ori for best results. By original coconut oil ( you can try Lucile's) and mix with original shea butter. Also continue exclusive breastfeeding, it's the best.

Methinks it's too early to determine this.
You might supplement with cow milk.
Sometimes it might be because the mum isn't eating well enough (most new mums are trying to snap back into their post baby body), if that's the case, Pls feed well for your child.
Choice of milk, SMA always comes to my mind..dunno why.
To be safe ask your paediatrician.
Nursing mother make sure u eat good and balance diet. Also ensure u take pap with evaporated milk in it at least twice daily. Drink lots of water and beverage drink (Milo and milk) as ur baby will be sucking all this from your breast. You can introduce formula when she turns 3month if you're a stay at home mum but if not two months before u resume work. I hope this help. Pls join the baby center group for info

Honestly the question of stopping exclusive has to be directed at your doctor.
In my case I have VERY big babies.. the second required additional food(milk) to sustain his glucose level... so that was how the doctors introduced formula hours after he was born. I couldn't do my 3 months exclusive religiously cos boy was he ravenous?
He is one of the sharpest almost 2years olds I know.. and big too. LOL
A healthy baby is what we pray for.. Yours must not be chubby for now. Exclusive will save you costs,It will create more room for bonding,you will not need to be on your feet sterilizing things because baby is getting from the source. You will do less work of washing up of baby utensils and rest more. I LOVE MY REST.
These are some practical benefits I know...
Make sure you are lactating very well.. Sometimes babies suck and not much is coming out meaning that we are unknowingly starving them... These are more important than just loving chubby babies dear.
About the rash,I have always used Sudocream.
You need to air babies bum more. Use water instead of wipes for now.
The skin is extremely sensitive now so wipes must be put aside. Water is more soothing. Ask your doctor for another Nappy Cream.

So yesterday's comment on sp about the fat girl took me back memory lane. Fat girls, pls work on your weight and you won't have to be begging a man to give you attention. I also met a fat girl on s&m. yup from her pics she was quite fat but I wasn't expecting what I saw when we finally hooked up. it was a far cry. babe was totally fat and shapeless,y'all know we have some fat but curvy women, but this was the opposite. I wasn't shocked but acted all polite. The icing on the cake happens to be that I perceived mouth odour and her lower teeth were yellow. as if being fat and shapeless isn't enough. Now she's acting all needy with calls and attention. Ladies, if you are in shape, you won't need to beg or choke a man to call you and all. Pls for health reasons work on your selves. I don't want to hurt her feelings but she clearly isn't my type. And no we haven't had sex and I don't intend to cos I don't find her attractive.

So I decided to worship God in my house today and now I'm glad I did. There is a very heavy downpour outside right now, cho! How I hate being out there when its raining like this especially when my outing does not have anything to do with business or money.
Now, I'm under my duvet with my sweet little pie watching her favourite animation series Barbie! We are on 'Barbie the pearl princess' now..
This girl is making me to fall in love with animation movies o. I've watched quite a number of them and I really enjoyed them. From Sherman and Dr peabody to Snow white and the seven dwarfs to Zhumba, very interesting movies. I will get more and watch...

Delete@anonymous new mom,please be patient with the weight oo...lol.male sure you eat right,take a big cup of pap with enough milk at least 3xs daily,eat solid and lots of liquids,it's what you eat the baby sees o,then some babies are late bloomers,my daughter was 2.7too and only started adding weight at 6weeks,so it's too early to be worried+do exclusive o,it's the safest and most economical!!!!

Happy Sunday Stella and bvs. I am in church now charging my phone, no light at home, I have been charging my phone here in the church since 8:20am. Some people in my house did not pay light bill, so they disconnected our light in our house. How can they bring 9000 for a bungalow with 8rooms, Some of us did not even have fan in the room, That is how we all protest that we are not paying. They will settle it on Monday though.
