Dear Mrs Korkus, I have just seen the IHN of Wednesday where you kindly used my face and adverts. I scrolled to read comments and I was alarmed that EMJAY and some other bvs took it south.
EMJAY has been a nickname I have been using since secondary school. That is what is inscribed on that polo. The picture was taken years ago.
I wasnt trying to impersonate anybody. I have enough on my plates already. I don't want to join issues with anyone either. I only sought friendship and patronage.
I said I hardly comment and when I do it is as EMJAY OR ANNONYMOUS. what other clarifications do you seek?

NAMING CEREMONY VS DEDICATION

A friend dedicated her baby in church few Sundays ago. I was surprised that from her husband's side, it was only her Mum in-law that was present in the church. Snacks and soft drinks were shared after service and everyone departed to their various houses. I discovered they departed to their houses when I followed her home and no sign of 'owambe'.
Now, my friend is from the East where child dedication is a big party. I asked her why and she told me that there was fire on the mountain.

What happened?

Her hubby is from the Southwest and the child was their first. They had a big party for the naming ceremony which held in her hubby's family house according to family tradition. Her own people could not come down because of the short notice and distance, only her mum did. So those other ones all planned big for the child dedication unknown to them that naming ceremony is more valued in their daughter's new home. 

My friend and hubby fixed the dedication for when the child would be 3months old. Few days to the D-day, wife's people started arriving their home from the village, they started talking about killing of goat/cow and how they can assist with somethings lol, husband's mama said 'We have named our child at 8days and we killed a cow for the party, we are not throwing any other party for this child until her first birthday. We will only share snacks and drinks in the church.'


My friend was not aware of this, she would have told her people. She asked her hubby and he confirmed what his mum said.
This became a big issue in the family, in the end only two or three relatives of this lady later attended the child dedication, the rest swore not to come and didn't show up.

Now, my fellow bvs, which do you prefer for a big party - Naming ceremony or Child dedication?

IYA IBEJI SERIES
FIRST TIME IN EKOSODIN
Got into Uniben in the late nineties. Heard so many stories about ekosodin and resolved never to go there. My Waka no pass from 500LT to library then to Hall 1.

But one day in my 2nd semester  my friend asked me to follow her to ekosodin she didn't have to convince me much because after one semester I don begin dey chop liver and I have also met  some small girls who lived there so I didn't see it as a big deal, also it was day light what could possibly go wrong?

So to Ekosodin we went walked passed the famous Aso Rock hostel and others.  Got to one path and I smelt igbo ( marijuana) I tapped my friend to ask if she smelt  it too she froze, I followed her gaze and saw them.

Before us were some guys wearing black and red ,  I held my friend's hand and as we made to turned back we heard a voice "hold it"
Some of the guys walked pass  others stayed to torment us. One of them came really close and touched my friend's face and said  fine girls how are you doing? My friend burst into tears. Another one sitting on a fence jumped down and the ground  shook he screamed at my friend to be quiet, na there my spirit run leave my body.

My friend stopped crying instantly, the other guy looked at me and said something I didn't know how to answer for I was too afraid to talk. He asked my friend if I talked she noded, he then asked where we were going, tearfully she said we were to see our school father.  They started laughing at us, ask for our address my friend gave him a fake one.

They walked with us told us to be safe and that they will visit us soon then they left.
