      Yes. Because bitcoin is a decentralised monetary movement. It isn't controlled by anyone such as central bank, world bank and etc. So not knowing who created it helps the users to control how it is used and valued.

    Satoshi is unknown because he/she has fulfilled his/her purpose of decentralised monetary transfers that isn't controlled by govt or any organization. The users are the ones who control bitcoin not the creator. Since he has done his bit, he posted on his blog in 2011 that he has moved on to a different project. So you can all now see the motive behind his anonymity. If he is known, it will affect the ideology of decentralised money exchange. Plus, I don't think the guy wants to be a public figure. Most nerds don't want to be public figure. Sure, they want recognition for their work but if it might be at the expense of their freedom or peace, they rather do things anonymously or quietly and not be seen always.
