Shehu, in a series of tweets on his social media handle described the claims by the parents as totally false.
He noted that the girls, who were to visit their parents during the Easter period could not due to security concerns.
The tweets read, “It is time to put to rest the falsehood that parents of the 24 Chibok Girls who returned earlier are not allowed to see them. Cross section of the Chibok Girls recently released from Boko Haram
“This claim is outrightly false. By an arrangement put in place, the 24 girls will go home to spend time with their families every three months.
“They were due to go during Easter but security advice was against that.
“Instead, Government made arrangements for the parents to come to their girls in Abuja in batches.
“Eighteen of the parents left Abuja on Friday, May 5 after spending three days with their daughters. This can be verified.
“Another set will also come once arrangements for them are put in place.”

This is an ongoing thing. Many girls are still in captivity and it makes sense to isolate them for a bit so they dont go around talking to the wrong people and hampering negotiotians/chances of rescuing their remaining colleagues. I only hope the FG didnt just dump them somewhere without extensive therapy. They should be undergoing therapy for the longest time.

DeleteSo, whose side are you?
if i hear, nigerian govt and its tales by moonlight story...
ReplyDeleteno girls were taken from chibok without against their will, the borno state government under Jonathan were trying to seek international attention since Jonathan ignored them so they took laws into their hands, buhari had to play along since they are all same north. I also heard there was a memo before the alleged kidnaping so parents/guardians withdrew their wards, this I confirmed myself someone I know his sister was schooling there. According to Fayose you can't look for something that was never missing in the first place. We Nigerians are smart please I know for a fact the stories don't add up. All this charade is for the int'l community. Stella please post, I'll understand if you don't.
ReplyDeleteThe safety of these girls should be paramount to their parents. There's the need for them to be 'deradicalized',rehabilitated and reintegrated back into the society.
